I've got a Kodak EazyShare 650 that takes videos, which I guess are in a .mpeg format. I'll see if I can get a video, sound of mine starting up and running. When I first fired up the engine, with nothing but a set of straight pipes out of the headers (read really LOUD) I backed it out of the garage into the driveway so I could set timing, idle and just check it over. Only real problem was the transmission, having not been used for 14 years (had been fully overhauled then shelved) was kind of "grabby" if you know what I mean. No biggie, I figured it would loosen up with time.
Had it out there for half an hour or so, then shut it off, checked every thing, and no leaks or drips. Life was GOOD! A little while later I started it up to put it back in garage. The grabby transmission grabbed...and IN I WENT! Soon as I touched the brakes...BIG RED BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON! And worse, pedal goes to floor! Woo HOO!
I was thinking fast enough to put it in neutral (engine went to about 2500 rpm...remember straight pipes!) and fast pumped the brakes. Got it whoa'd down with the radiator frame (it had no fenders on it at the time) about an inch from running into all sorts of really heavy metal nasty things...like the tanks for my gas welder!
Eventually I remembered, reminded by the gawd awful noise of a 440 at 2500 rpm with straight out pipes, that the engine was running! So I shut it off...
Then the only sound was the smoke detector in the motor home which is in the garage doing its screeching BEEP…BEEP…BEEP. (not unlike a Roadrunner horn) It got set off by all the carbon monoxide put out by a 440 at 2500 rpm with straight pipes, one of which was pointed straight at the motor home! Once the smoke and fumes cleared, the smoke detector shut off, the only sound was my buddy who had witnessed it all, laughing his ass off at me! I suggested he could have thrown himself in front of the wheels to stop the car, but noooo……he was to busy laughing at me!
Ah yes....GOD does look after fools, drunks, and Mopar nuts!
After that I always made sure there were (1) GOOD brakes and (2) chocks on the floor BEFORE I pulled it back into the garage!
Now everything is good...transmission has smoothed out, brakes have been bled (a dozen times) and I can gently, with total control, pull it into the garage, stopping when the fluffy tennis ball suspended from the ceiling gently touches the windshield just above the mirror!
Now that episode would have made a neat movie!

Yeah it really was. I bought it new and used it as a daily driver for 18 years. Two secrets saved it...I had it Ziebarted and used about a hundred gallons of Armor All on the interior!scottish440 wrote:Nice Car!!!

Yeah that fell into the "YAHOOOOOO" category. Nearly as good as when I backed the motor home out but failed to secure the roll up door and it...well...er....rolled down slightly! Gahh...... Fortunately that motor home had a big ass roof ladder that hit the rollup door and rather than do a "what's that noise" and nailing the power...I stopped.pigman wrote:No just do a cut and paste of the IMG choice.
