Scam Redux

Post by aerodynamic » Sun Aug 06, 2006 2:34 pm

Well, got an auction started on ebay last week, and within a day someone ended it with "Buy It Now". I was happy for a few minutes, then the person sent me a note saying he'd be sending me a cashier's check to cover shipping....DANGER WILL ROBINSON!! I told him my auction required an immediate $500 PayPal deposit, to which he responded he didn't have a PayPal account and was only comfortable sending me
a cashier's check. Besides, shipping was stated as being buyer's responsibility. After contacting Ebay, they looked into the matter and the person no longer has an Ebay account. I'm always wary of anyone who never asks a question about the item. Interested people ALWAYS have questions.

Man, we gotta be careful these days.
