Am I just being too picky?

Post by JimT1971RR » Fri Jan 04, 2013 1:07 am

It really bugs me when I see a listing for a Plymouth car being sold with a "Magnum" engine in it. I.E. "72 roadrunner w/440 Magnum...."

I know that the 440 Magnum and the 440 Super Commando were identicle, except for which make of car they were installed into and the pie pan on the top of the air cleaner, but still. No Plymouth ever came from the factory with a Magnum engine. Magnum is a Dodge term. I just wish people would get it right. Additionally, I find it really annoying when a car is listed as having a complete restoration and yet has the wrong pie pan on it.

Do you agree or am I just being too picky.

If you want to get pissed off, do it over something important...

Like Dodges being equipped with "Air Grabbers". They're Ram Chargers. Duh!

Don't get me started on Hemi Orange Plymouths.

Need I go on?

As long as it doesn't have a Posi, I don't care too much.

[quote="471Magnum"]If you want to get pissed off, do it over something important...

The same advice my wife gives me on a regular basis

The general interest car mags are partially to blame for this.

Every car or engine with three two barrels is a "Six Pack"

Every purple car is painted "Plum Crazy"

As you stated, every orange car is "Hemi Orange"

A certain shade of blue is "Petty Blue"

You know I'm almost OK with this, 'cause it's so common.

Recently a certain Mopar magazine reported that a Fury was equipped with a "440 Magnum"

That's going too far! :help:

I'm hoping they were just testing us.

the only thing that bugs me is when someone advertises thier car and they don't even know the year of their own car. Like calling it a 73 when you can see its a 71. And they will argue with you over it.
400 stroked to 470ci, 3:55 Eaton true trac, slightly upgraded suspension lol
