Winging it

Post by aerodynamic » Wed May 10, 2006 6:06 pm

Hi all,

I was looking at where the previous owner installed the go-wing on my 73 RoadRunner. It almost seems like it's back a tad too far. Does anyone know where it probably should be positioned? Does anyone have pix of the mounting bolts locations underneath on a car that's got one?

Thx for any help.

Greg

The wing/spoiler options were cancelled in 72. The 71 models had cutouts in the underlid bracing for the wing mounting. Here's a 71 decklid pic...

Yeah, they got it wrong by about an inch and a half I'd say. If you look at the pic you posted, they have the rearmost bolt coming through just after that brace. Guess I'll have to get another trunklid.

Thanks man

About that wing position..

Well, as you can see from the picture, they REALLY got it wrong. The back half of the wing hangs slightly past the end of the trunk. The trunk lid's kin good shape otherwise, but I think the position of the wing will allways bother me. Anyone got another trunk lid?
