Need Help for Export

Post by driver » Thu Jan 19, 2012 6:21 am

Hi,
a half year ago i must sell my satellite.
because the prior owner do so crazy thinks.. and my car caught fire :-(
now i take a look in USA to export me an RoadRunner and i found a nice an cheep car.
but the seller has strange ideas and i am not sure is it all true... so i need help :-)
Is it a right way to buy an car with help from "GoogleMotor.com" ?
I found the car in AutotraderClassic.Com but since yesterday the car is away....
the idea is that i fly to New York (Live in Germany) and he send the car with DAS to my
Adress in NewYork.. and i take a look.. and than i can say Yes or NO.. when i say no i get
my money back !!! The contact feels good but the car is very cheep and i think it is a fake!!
Best regards and Thanks for help..
Christian from Hamburg :-)

he write me : (sorry much text)
If we decide to proceed with this transaction, i will have to contact Google and provide them all the necessary information, so they can start the process right away. Give me your full name (and i need your real name because this is the name i will use for the transfer of the title) and your shipping address (where do you want to receive the car). You will receive a notification (invoice) from Google shortly after that, with all the instructions to follow and the invoice as well.
Payment
Regarding the payment you will be instructed to deposit the money to an Google Bank account and they will secure it untill you get the car.
Inspection
You will have a 5 days for inspection period so you can make sure that it is the car that you saw in the pictures. If you find the car unsatisfactory at the end of the 5 days inspection period, you have the option to return it to me at my expense and get a refund from Google in 24 hours after they are notified about your decision.
The final decision to buy or not the car will be after the 5 days with the car at your home.
Shipping
As soon as i will have the confirmation from Google that the funds have been deposited to their account, i will immediately contact the shipping company regarding the delivery
arrangements so you get the car in maximum 4-5 days. The car will be shipped crated by DAS Auto Shippers, this is a door to door delivery service, so the car will arrive at your address, you won't have to worry about picking it up from a dock.
Documents
I will send the car with all the papers and documents(clear title, bills of sale, car's manual). The clear title and the bill of sale will both be signed and they will be shipped together with the car. Also this car will arrive with all the documentations required for registration and 2x keys.
You decide whether you keep the car or not( hopefully you will be positive as you will love it).

Therefore, if you are determined in buying the car, please sent me an email with your full name and full shipping address to start the transaction with Google motors.

Hi Christian
If I have the story straight, you are paying full price for the car then going to NY to see it and approve the sale. If the car is not what you want you get your money back.
This all sounds too complex for a car sale. If you are going to the expense of coming to the US to buy a car,
Several things stick out, You say the car is CHEAP, FAKE both are red flags the deal is going to go BAD.
You can research many cars for sale and go see them and have your pick or find someone to look potential cars over for you before hand.
You could also place want ads on websites to locate certain model cars with options you want to narrow the field a little.
Shipping and paying for a car just to get a look at it is more problem than it is worth and almost guarantees problems.
What year and model car are you wanting to find?
Use the KIS METHOD
KEEP IT SIMPLE!
Find a car
Look at the car.
Buy the car
Ship the car
Enjoy it

Hi Driver

I imported my car from the US to Denmark about 5 years ago. I found the car on eBay after months of searching. I then hired a Danish import company to assist in talking to the seller, arranging shipping, insurance, taxes etc. The guy is an American living in Denmark and he has been in the classic car game for 25 years or so.
In the end I got a car that was like I expected and I'm very glad I got professional help, it's soo easy to get burned if you cannot inspect the car in person before getting the dollars out of your pocket.

I would suggest you get in contact with one of the German import companies and let them help you. I know that fx Moparshop.de imports cars but I have no experience with them and don't know how they work.

You can take a look at the Danish import company that I used, they speak english and I think they could help you out! www.dream-machines.dk

Good luck getting a Roadrunner in your driveway.

The car is for sale on AutotraderClassic.Com but the seller wants to go through googlemotors?

You should just arrange to go there to see the car. What is the point of paying for the car, then paying to get there to see it,THEN decide if your want it? Either way you have to go there.

This is why I don't like online buying and selling. Once you register, mix websites with accounts, you cant sell/buy anything personally/privately.

Goodluck!

Post a list of models and options your are looking for and in what condition.
I know of three for sale in various conditions.
No they are not mine but if I can put you and the seller together I will. :)

I have a hard time believing a seller would pay return shipping if you didn't like the car. When I bought my car I used escrow.com

The seller was in Arizona, I was in Michigan. We both signed up on escrow.com , then the seller filled out a description of the car and sent it to me. I received her invoice from the web page, and deposited enough money to cover the cost of the car and a small transaction fee for the web page. But here is the part I liked. Escrow.com held my money until the car arrived. I got the car, gave it a look over, and then went online and released the funds to the seller. It worked out great! If I didn't like the car, I would have paid shipping back to Arizona and my funds would come back to me. You and the seller work out the time needed to release funds. The escrow company called me personally to make sure I got the car. I would use this over paypal or any other money transaction service on another big transaction. Its safe for everyone.

I will be seeing the owner of two of the cars next week sometime.
The third car will be harder to get a hold of as he is out of town.
I'll get the pictures and send them then.

If you can get a car through a member here, that would be a great idea. Hope farmboy70 can help you. :)
