Some upgrades for ole blue

Post by 1bluegtx » Wed Mar 30, 2011 10:53 pm

Well after years of abuse, hundreds of burnouts and the victor of many street fights,i finally knocked a couple of teeth off the ring gear.A set of richmond 4:57s took care of that but while it was up on jack stands i noticed other areas that needed to be fixed. Both springs had broken leaves so i installed new springs, front and rear mounts and added a set of Cal-trac bars.A new gas tank was in order but i had a rear sump welded to the bottom, dual rear outlets will go to the filters and pumps and a -8an stainless line will run up front to the carb.Next a set of hooker 2" x 3.5" collector headers(550.00 headers and still had to clearence a pipe!)Seems to spend most of its life on jackstands!

My friend just installed a set of caltracks on his 68 firebird and he swears by them. He has been trying to talk me into getting some. Let me know how yours work out. I am vry intersted in them.

Looks great! I also have the gas tank sump in my car. Unfortunately, whoever welded it in installed it too far towards the back of the tank so the lowest point isn't the sump! Just have to fill up more frequently is all.

Also wouldn't mind hearing how your Cal-Tracs do. I know right now my passenger side leaf is S-shaped.
