#'s 440 to a '71 Plymouth here?

This block is supposedly out of a '71 V-code RR, looks like a '71 St. Louis car 1G150102...

Tne 1 means 71 the G is St Louis Plant, the rest of the #s are the Serial #s of the car or VIN. What is the casting # on the side of the block raised #s?

From what Ive read on 440Source and the Moparts forums, there is no difference in 440 blocks whether they are HP or 6pack, only the parts that went into them.

I always thought the HP and 6-pack motors all used the same internals as well... the heavier forged crank and rods I thought the difference is what is on top of the motor. A six pack block like that seems like it would only be valuable to the car it came from. (matching #s)

Nope, the 440+6 engine also used a cam that used 3 bolts that retained the timing gear.

I posted what the guy said about it supposedly coming out of a V-code car. Without matching up the sequence # to a known car, we will never know for sure what it originally came out of. One thing for certain though, it was either a U or V-code GTX or a 6bbl RR. Did they make RT Chargers and Superbees at the St.Louis plant in '71?
