That car was in Florida (on ebay) about a year and a half ago. I didn't have anything written down about the condition, so I'd imagine it was in the same condition as it is now.
As I remember, one of our members got burned by the Texas Toy Box on a 71 black GTX. I believe it had some hidden damage that was not disclosed.

Well I think you are thinking of 471Magnum and he bought that GTX from Austin but I don't think it was from any of the owners of Texas Toy Box cause a number of months down the line he turned around and sold it to Lucas Mopars http://www.roadrunnernest.com/forum/vie ... 02&start=0 and I'm pretty sure Lucas and Toy box are linked somehow cause I keep seeing cars moving from one web page to the other and then back again. I have seen 471Magnum's old GTX on both of their websites for sale, in fact its still for sale on the Lucas site.

While I'm sure there are tons and tons of General Lee stories out there are you sure the one you guys are thinking about isn't about Texas Toy Box but Black Knight Auto out of Houston... and this infamous 179 page threadnaught? http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index ... 620.0.html

SublimeOne if I had not taken a week away from this site I would offer to go out and look at the car for you. Texas Toy Box is like 35 miles or so outside of Austin. I'm going to be pretty busy this upcoming week and I'm flying out of town near mid week so I don't think I can be any help.. maybe..... <shrug>

Alright guys, help our new Road Runner owner out, who can refer a GOOD, honest and reliable transport company or individual to get this car from Texas to Charlotte, NC?

I have used Express Auto Transport with zero problems. They communicate well and have a wide range of services ranging from open flat bed in a few weeks to, it's gotta be here tomorrow via enclosed.

I found my 71' roadrunner by posting a "wanted" add on craigslist. I added key words like mopar, ford, chevy so everyone would see it. Had a lot of people offer 73' and 74's but just didn't want them. After about a week, one guy had a buddy with an all origional #'s matching 71' roadrunner who sold it to me for 7500, rust free car btw. Came with the #'s 383 with 4 speed and air conditioning. I live in san antonio and got the car out of dallas.

I have looked at a lot of Texas Toy box cars and some look really good as if the effort was put in while others look as if they were half assed. Personally, the quality of that green clone doesn't look that great and the photos were taken from 20ft away so that should tell you something. Plus, if your going to be spending 14k on a car, might as well get a car that already has the motor your looking for. Otherwise your going to be spending the extra coin to buy another motor and waste time chucking that 318.

After all this time I thought I'd take a peek, at the dreaded TexasToybox.com page.......sure enough that SublimeGreen RR that brought me to this site for advice and help, the one that "supposedly" a apprasier had bought out from under me as I was told by the TTB guy........ is STILL listed on his site for sale. FATE, it was meant to be that I avoided that car with sound advice and feedback from the good folks here and the mopar B bodies forums. I'm very happy with the car I settled on VERY!
