I think that's a reasonable price for that car.
It is a day one car and the earliest 71 LA road runner I have on record. From all I've seen and discussions I've had with Marty it should be a very nice resto (I've not seen it in person since the resto)

That does look like a nice car, and the price had dropped to the point where it's almost reasonable. I'm sure he has more than that in it.

There was more than one pilot car built each year. It's possible to have a pilot car with each engine type and each build plant.
