Don't forget to check the rubber brake hoses...I have had a few old cars that got blockages in them...they also can bulge when you hit the brakes and add to the sponginess....rabidscott wrote:Hi Brian!!
I got the front caliper bracket holes tapped and the caliper re-mounted, I've only bled the fronts and the pedal is still a little low and spongy. I'll try bleeding out the rears, I'm hoping the master cylinder and booster are still good, but we'll see. That fluid in the master looks like the original fluid for the car!
I'm the FNG....

I bled the brakes out last night, got them working excellently! I'm not used to this power brake thing. They are easy to depress, but there is virtually no pedal feel!
Brian, you are totally right, this car spins 'em at will! I did a little brakestand, spun 'em with ease!
After getting the timing set, you can punch it and it will spin 'em from a standstill. Not bad for a little 318 two barrel!
I did find something a little terrifying.... when I jacked it up and checked the front suspension I noticed the idler arm was shot... like to point where the tie rod end part is about to pull out of the rest of the arm! Eeek!
There was a little slop in the wheel bearings, and I still have to do the tranny and oil filters and fluid changes.
