No, but I know of a petty guy who feels kinda blue sometimes and has white hair who is 71 years old. I doubt he'd let me photograph him, but then again, I doubt he could stop me.

j/k

How about a '71 Satellite with the same color scheme and no Hemi?

BTW, did you hear that Tom Petty will be touring with Roseanne Cash next summer?

It's called The Petty Cash Tour. . ..

Eric, any idea how many Petty Blue 71s were built? It had to be a relative handful, correct?

Last I knew of the car, I believe it was in the northeast, New York comes to mind. If that car was for sale at $8500 it was either a scam or an incredible steal! With the rare color and HEMI engine, it has to be worth over $150K even in today's market!
Bruce, this is the only petty blue 71 Plymouth B I'm aware of. The color was not a standard offering, and would have been a special order 999 paint code.
AKA Butterscotch71....the road runner nest is out to win you over this year!Image

That's why I asked. I really didn't think it was available on '71s at all!

No, but here's a 72..."Basin Street Blue" (the official name of "Richard Petty Electric Blue") Road Runner.

after i moved down here, and drove my car around awhile, i must have inspired someone, as a guy a few blocks down purchased a petty blue 72 SSP with white canopy top...beautiful car...has some of that bodyside trim missing and a lil rust, but it's iowa...so not too shabby for a 36 year old car
