yeah, i talked to my friend who was helping me get my car ready and he didn't remember the pipes really getting messed up at all when we straight piped it, since the inlet is center and outlet is offset, it's really not a big difference, so each pipe will move just a hair to fit in right...i figure i'll try the turbo mufflers that come with the kit, but if they don't roar, glasspacks are goin on...can't imagine driving my car quiet

Having graduated HS in 74 I can relate to everything said so far. Never had $ to spend on 4D Cbody or 4D nova with a 2 spd auto. Just a waste of time and money I figured.

Tunes was another story. Whatever car you drove had to have TUNES.
My friends had 8 tracks. They sucked then and still do. Never had one.

Got a Craig PowerPlay cassette player with FM. Got 2 6x9 Craig PowerPlay speaker for the rear shelf. They had 3 or was it 5 lb magnets.
Add some 4in speakers to the kick panels and ROCK ON.

Anyway have a Craig PP cassette deck underdash quick release unit. I take a portable battery CD player with antiskip and a cassette adapter. Plug it in to the tape deck and still ROCK ON.

8 tracks are like bias ply tires.
Nice to look at if your have a trailer queen but not worth using if you drive your car.

I never had a problem with tapes breaking in the day. . .the biggest problem I had with the 8 tracks were the girlfriends ejecting the Led Zeppelin and sticking in the Bay City Rollers. . .I don't give a damn if it was Saturday Night, I don't like Pop. . .

It's funny how things go. . .in our community, cassette players didn't hit it big until after the eighties hit. . .until then, it was 8 tracks.

I'm installing mine more for show than anything else. I'm sticking in a Sirius Satellite in the glove box.

Does anyone remember 4 track players. My dad had one in a 65 impala ss convert. I believe it was a dealer installed setup because the case matched the interior and my dad was the type that wouldn't have anything in his car that wasn't from the dealer. Yea, I know, this has nothing to do with the topic.

lol just lookin for now...i just dropped over 200 for a double pumper, which really isn't bad considering it just came off a running car ( too much carb for the motor he had) plus the fuel line, but still a dent in the account, so i may have to wait a lil while

i would like to get one with at least fm radio on it as well, since i usually just listen to the radio...however i do plan on using the 8 track, just for kicks

:D I can relate. My RR came with the cassette mounted player on the hump (which I still have). I didnt think the cassettes hit it big til late 80's. My dads SSP had a 8 track in it.
