You may want to check with DMV. Depending on the state some keep records indefinitely where others don't. You may get lucky and they may be able to help with a name-address of the last person who registered/owned it.

Question is is it wort more to you or somebody else? Are you building it to sell or keep? You don't have the original drive train so it's your choice at this point. I seen guy on another forum take 5.7 and make his own intake for it so he could put a carb on it. A little of both, Old and new.

There is all kinds of media available for blasting. Baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) may be a good choice. hydro blasting rusts the surface as soon as it dries. Both have their uses depending what part of the car you are doing.

Do you have the build sheet? If you look at it there are different lines witch have the same letter/# code on them as do the fender tag. It will give you a better way of understanding whats on the tag.

I believe all big blocks had forged cranks up to 1970. After that it depends on the motor.

Yes although somebody made the pistol grip handle for automatics years ago. I seen them at various meets.

I made up one that mounts to the k frame bolts, Just 1/4 X 2 flat stock bent to fit with an I beam and two casters welded to it. You can buy similar ones.

Matching up a gauge is the hard part. Wonder if any of the gauge resto places have a solution/volt replacement?

Go into paint and open the pic, Click on resize. Then click on pixels then set the larger of the two #'s to around 600(this depends on the original size of the pic), Then open the drop down menu and click save as jpeg. You will have to rename it. Did you sign up? I think you need an account do use it. After you post a pic you can edit it. If you use paint you can resize it before you post to any pic hosting site. It may hep to say what you are using? Computer, tablet, phone etc...
