904 is probably more common on a small blockfrom the factory for sure and if beefed up could handle 400 horse torque which is a lot for a 360 I believe the 727 is a lot beefier and will handle a lot more horses thus the 727 was used on a lot of high powered muscle cars...also the 727/904 are differe...
