There's a first. I have NEVER seen a '71 and up b-body with a painted roof. That's gotta be unusual.

No, not too good to be true. Just remember, those are the "hand-formed" replacement panels that will need plenty of massaging to fit right and look decent. Probably made in China too...

Can't answer your question I'm afraid, but I don't think there's anything to link the two. That is, you can find out how many 340 4 speeds were built and you can find out how many Corporation Blue cars were built, but you can't find how many 340 4 speeds were painted Corporation Blue. Best you can d...

Don't think anyone here is gonna argue with you about the '71 being the best looking. I think John Herlitz, the car's designer, considered it some of his best work. He only regreted some of the compromises they had to make to get the car into production, certainly not the overall design of the car.

There ya go. I wasn't certain whether a '71 would have the Plymouth Division lettering like mine do. I didn't think that was correct for a '71 but I like them none-the-less.

Max's Hemi Road Runner?

Several times I've mentioned here and on Moparts a buddy's '71 Hemi Road Runner. Recently this pic was posted on Moparts of a possible match. Max's RR was this color with the stripe and had the houndstooth inserts in the seats. The only thing is, if my memory hasn't totally failed, Max's car had lou...

Yeah, I looked at the Year One catalog AFTER I made that post, and realized it was a '73 Road Runner and it was still the orange and black interior... Doh!!! Other than that, the only orange seat pictured in the Year One book is shown with the seat by itself... but it IS still over the top! :D

Now Dave, you know saying John "parted out" the Bird Pile is like saying Elvis is "kinda" dead... Landon, no one I'm aware of is manufacturing true "OEM replacement" style quarter panels for '71s. You can find replacement panels and patch panels for the cars from Sherman and Associates, and Au...

Don't use the wheels on my car as your model! Those are later model cop car wheels. I'm sure Dave will know for sure, but I think if your GTX came with wheel covers it's most likely the conical shaped covers with holes around the perimeter. Just like what came on my car ORIGINALLY and I don't care f...

I've only seen the pic in the Year One catalog of an orange interior in, if I recall correctly, a '72 Road Runner. In my opinion, YES, it's over the top. And that car has black carpet, dash, door panels, etc. My Road Runner has the orange and black interior and that is plenty bright by itself!

I've only seen two '71 b-bodys with the houndstooth cloth inserts. A buddy's '71 Hemi Road Runner and the original seats of Jeff Brown's GTX. I think they look cool and FEEL better on your back than vinyl in the hot, hot summer. And in all the years I've been messing with Mopars if I've only seen 2?...

Yep, a convertible would be cool. I don't care WHAT color, I just hope they BUILD that car! And to that end, be sure to go here: http://www.dodge.com/challenger_survey Fill out the survey, and you might help ensure they build the Challenger AND build it the way we want it... Vote now or forever hold...
