Re: An update on Satty.

if you like to fabricate mounts, i just bought a universal griffin aluminum chevy radiator for ~$200, made mounts of aluminum with rubber insulators, then made my own lower radiator hose - top one is still for a 318 '71 satellite.

Re: starter

i've never had an issue with my headers and the starter, but a mini would be great just for the weight difference while trying to get it installed. i think i've read on moparts you can use 'mini' starters for mid 90s V8 Rams and Dakotas - might be a smarter buy than the several hundred dollar pieces...

Re: Headlight & Wiper Knob Restoration

The dash emblem you are talking about isn't this part of the larger fake wood applique on the dash. If this is correct would their not be 2 styles one with the ac vents and one without the ac vents?. Also what are the belt moldings you are discussing? there are different styles of inserts, but the ...

Re: my car - the Lilac Attack

if you want to go on a budget, my car's been set up with a holley DP (650 for more response, but want to try a 750), hedman headers with 2.5" exhaust, procomp HEI distributor with accel wires and plugs. i'm not sure how 400s are performance-wise, but being a 2bbl, it's probably a lower compression m...

Re: AFTERMMARKET RIMS FOR A 71/72 RUNNER

jmo, but i despise keystones(i'm pretty opinionated :D ) ....just something about them. the cragars aren't bad on the pre-71 cars, but i just don't think they look right - too fat or something, because torqthrust II's look good, but the original TTs i think are too fat also. personally, i love the s...

Re: An update on Satty.

may be cheaper, easier, and maybe even smarter to have a shop do it - that way, if they get one wrong, it's on their dime.

Re: Crankshaft polishing/turning

doesn't look horrible, but i'd still have your crank turned down to get it cleaned-up and use the correct bearings. mine was pretty bad - it was taken down .020 - you could probably get away with .010 i think it cost $150 to grind the crank. hopefully, your machine shop experience will be much bette...

Re: gas tank vent tubes

i'm not sure if this would work...maybe someone could give me a yay or nay... what if i used a vapor-return "chevy" type fuel filter. ran the vapor line back to the tank and had it utilize one of the vent tubes that previously went to the vapor separator. cap-off the other 3 vent tubes and use a ven...
