Re: heater core/radiator questions
All good insights. Keeping it fresh is a good idea, every two years flush it and replace the fluids. Taking a presssure washer and GENTLY cleaning the debris out of the fins helps too. No offense on the ROCK AUTO observation. Heater cores weren't every very pretty. Just letting you know they have be...

Re: Keisler 5 speed conversion
Finally a solution that doesn't require cutting the floor boards, albeit pricey. AND BEWARE- The company that took over Shaftme's work STILL won't tell you it doesn't fit PROPERLY! You will need a driveshaft like this to make the Tremec work in our cars. http://www.hotrod.com/articles/hot-rod-rescue...

Re: heater core/radiator questions
I have a piece of junk out of Rock Auto cooking me out of mine every spring and fall for the past 4 years. Why not take it down to a local radiator shop? If the tanks are still good they should be able to re-core if for you.

Re: ideal tires for 15s
Depends on what you want to do with it. Radial vs bias is the first decision. Then sizing. Bias plys have harder rubber compounds and stiffer sidewalls. Thats why you can do burnouts for days on those rolling rocks. The sidewall stiffness is tough too, much harsher ride and they hold until they don'...

Re: oil pressure gauge
Doesn't matter if its a small or big block, the sender / circuit is almost identical for the gauge. It is normal for it to take a few seconds to respond to the resistance change at the sender. The fuel gauge works in a similar way. it keep the gauges from bouncing with each little change in pressure.

Re: Hemi fourspeed overdrive
Oh sure. very few cars I've worked on didn't have the shims at the trans mount for setting the angles . Now it's much easier with digital levels it takes about 5 minutes to get the readings and figure out where the adjustments need to be made. not difficult at all, as long as there is room.

Re: Hemi fourspeed overdrive
I wish Passion was an option back when I bought the Shaft Me Keisler Perfect Fit tremec. I'm still working on getting the drive angles right. Although I now know there is no alternative other than to cut the crossmember and build a custom trans mount. BTW Silver Sport transmissions is the old Keisle...

Re: Leds or incandescent dash bulbs
I thought I saw a place that sells leds that plug right into the standard bulb sockets, , Ijust don't remember where. Do they have dimming range or are they full on all the time?

Re: What Radiator setups are you guys using??
I'm running a 22" 4 core brass radiator with the 7 blade clutch fan and shroud. There is about 1.5" clearance with 195 T stat. it rarely moves off the 195 mark and thats usually in July Aug stuck in traffic. Even then no issues.

MIght be something jammed in the box too. Check and see if you have a full swing. Maybe a piece of foam or rhe gasket is stuck in the way.

For all the goofing around you avoid, not to mention fighting 40 year old cracking and grime- probably the best bet.

Do you need the factory unit? If not just build one or put in a circuit breaker.

Re: 72 Rally dash Speedometer problem
From what you've said here I would venture that either the square drive in the back of the speedo is damaged or the magnet cup is damaged inside. Easiest thing to do is get another one cause I don't think they make repair parts for these.

That is my second favorite color- rootbeer metalic
It should be a great combination when you knock the cobwebs out of it.
Funny Story, I bought mine back in 86-my first car, flipped it, been working on it for 26 years .
