You can send them in E-Mail to me at corelokt@aol.com and I will resize them and post for you if you like.
Put "STRIPES" or Road Runner Nest in the subject box so I will catch it.

Re: gas tank strap, pad insulation

Thanks Scott. That has me thinking twice about the e-bay pads. They are foam and that makes me think it might hold moisture.

Re: gas tank strap, pad insulation

I pore a couple table spoons gas in the carb. Replace the breather to prevent fire, then start. You may have to do this 3 or 4 times depending on how good your pump is. This saves a lot of wear on the starter. If you choose to use the starter alone it will work but be careful not to over heat the st...

gas tank strap, pad insulation

OK I did not have the privilege of removing the tank from my 71 GTX. Did it have a pad between the trunk pan and the tank? Did the straps have rubber insulation between them and the tank?

Re: Motor Oil for old Muscle

I am going to use Valvoline VR1. It has 1400 ZDDP and 1300 phosphorus. Should be good enough for street use and it is avalable in synthetic and conventional at the local parts house.

Re: 4 vents on gas tank.

From looking at the "fuel vapor saver" image you posted it looks like the lines can have no real order in hooking up but I will be sure to hook the line to the valve cover breather back as it originally was. I went and took the separator off and though it is uglier than a 58 Chevy, it does not seem ...

Re: 4 vents on gas tank.

OK Thanks Jim. That covers the third line. There is a nipple on the valve cover breather cap that has nothing hooked to it. I will check out the separator because there is a hole in the trunk pan I need to repair right over where the 4 rubber lines leave the tank. I am a retired Boilermaker certifie...

Re: 4 vents on gas tank.

Thanks for the help guys. The return line. It seems like there was three lines on the fuel pump on my 71 road runner that I sold in the mid-late 70's. was one a return? The pump on this 71 440 GTX has only two lines. In from tank and out to carburetor. There is also a canister under the drivers side...

OK do I need to hook the 4 vents up on the new tank or plug them. Not making a show car. The tank was removed when I got the car. The new sending unit has a vent or return line also(which one?). The metal line for that is there but I have no Idea what to hook it to up in the engine bay. ..........Th...
