Re: Once and for all - The Tips debate may end here!!!!
Yup, the top half had the original sheet for my GTX, and the bottom half had the '71 Charger sheet. Only 322 cars apart on the line, but they both have the same interior code. FWIW- my GTX has the original exhaust as well, and the tips are the short version...

Re: Tilt steering in a '71?
I would love to find one if possible as that is the second option I want to add to my X (louvers being the other)

Tilt steering in a '71?
While checking out the option report, I noticed that there were a few '71 Plymouth B-bodies made with tilt steering, I never realized that was even an option in any other line than the C-bodies! Has anyone here on the Nest ever seen one optioned with it? 14 '71 road runners and 19 GTXs Steering Whee...

Re: Once and for all - The Tips debate may end here!!!!
In my '71 GTX, there was a second Broadcast sheet from a '71 383 2bbl Charger WP23L1G161707, so Chargers were in fact made alongside '71 Plymouths in the St.Louis plant. My X's VIN is 161385.

Re: VIN stamp question
Thanks to everyone, the responses have all been very helpful!! The one I had my eye on was this one... http://www.kcclassicauto.com/1971_Plymouth_GTX-299-Lg.html What do you guys think? As a side note, I already have a '68 Charger R/T (numbers matching) that I plan on selling (which I never thought...

I'll take a look when I am at the garage this week. Do you happen to have a pic of the plate?

Well, if you have anyone near the NYC area, let me know and I'll hold the seat for you. It's in pretty good shape and I have had it in storage for 15 years.

Re: VIN stamp question
I thought the rad support stamp was in front of the radiator and that you need to remove the rad to see it? Also the body code "RS23" is stamped under the weather stripping near the rear window under the trunk. It is, however, you typically can see the stamping as the # is stamped high enough to ma...

Re: VIN stamp question
My '71 GTX is a St.Louis car and I can't find the cowl stamping anywhere! Most of my Mopars have been E-bodies, so I am well aware of that location being used for the body #. Since the radiator support # is in place and the car has never been hit or restored, the fellow stamping the car back in '71 ...

Re: The Curious Yellow b*tch is back
That's the one Wasn't the car missing the fender tag? After looking at the Broadcast Sheet again, I really wish I worked on buying his X a little harder... Great car, 4-spd 4.10 Dana 15x7 ralleys, high impact color, and radio delete (well, no radio option I should say )!

Re: Realistically....how much is my car worth?
I also think you will be doing fine with the Vette trade (read the thread on Moparts), however, I would bet you will be back into an old Mopar soon enough. I burned out on a '70 V-code 4-spd shaker 'Cuda back in '06 after 8 years of ownership and though that selling it to buy a Viper would get me ex...
