Hopefully you'll score at a U-Pull-It yard.
Mine, with the wheel, was waaaaay less

Re: Steering wheel adapter

Yep, the E body one is also longer, puts the wheel too close to your chest in my opinion. I found a tuff wheel (in dark blue) in an early 80s Cordoba. Same adapter, I believe. Don't overlook late 70s and early 80s cars, B,R,F,M,J, bodies all could have them and I think I've seen them in Li'l Red Tru...

Re: G60-15 Tires

As long as you're using stock, or stock offset wheels you'll be fine.
Many run even larger sizes, with careful measuring!

Re: G60-15 Tires

I think it was to discourage you from putting that size on Sattelites with the std. suspension. RR and GTX came with HD, or XHD suspension with front sway bar and some models with rear bar too. Anyone buying aftermarket wheels back in the '70s could easily buy the "wrong" offset wheels that would re...

Re: clutch adjustment

[quote="road chicken"]Just a suggestion, but since you have the new parts available- why not take the measurements and re set the old PP assembly. That way, you don't lose out any money and have it on the shelf for the next time. Great suggestion!! And If the flywheel's off, you can do this on the b...

Re: Think Luck just ran out

Don't know if you have access to sonic-checking the block,
from what I've read, some are thick enough to clean up at .100 oversize!
Despite what the mopar performance books say.
I wouldn't scrap it just yet! :)

Re: clutch adjustment

Ok, I've been away for awhile. As as been stated, the 3 fingers should be the same height. I've found the fingers uneven after even slight use. Discovered that the adjustment nuts are not locked!! So I adjusted them till they're the same height and tack welded. End of that problem! Now, if you use t...

Re: sb\bb Transmission question.

I don't know the source, but I believe there are "adapters" out there to put the LA trans on the B engine. If you've got a lot invested in the small block trans., this would be another option. I think people have also used these to put one of the overdrive automatics behind a big block. Since, in pr...

I agree, but Nov 1971 would be in the first half of 1972 production?

Re: lower control arm - somethings up

Most of mine have been a little too loose. If you look at the way they're made, at last the pre 1973 arms, you can spread them a little with a suitable tool. Those boxing plates that are sold, can be used to "lock in" clearance once your happy with it. Once the front end height is set, they aren't s...

Re: Axle seals

[quote="sdwea\ Once the axle shaft is out, the seal is right at the end of the axle housing. Just pry out the old seal and gently tap in the new seal. While you are in there, make sure you inspect your bearings and axle shaft surfaces for unusual wear. Like Scott said, don't ignore wear on the axle ...

Re: 71 GTX Body Side Stripe

Now I know none of us would slight any of the skilled craftspeople who engineered and assembled our favorite cars?
I thinks it's wonderful that our cars are still around 40 plus years after their birth!

Hopefully none of the citizens of Detriot? will be offended.

Re: Front suspension parts

Consider disassembling the suspension yourself. You'll need fewer special tools, and can inspect the parts, document inspection marks,etc.. Find a shop that has the expertise, to replace the bushings for you, some will rebuild parts shipped to them. Mark where your eccentrics are, measure your tie r...
