71 RoadRunner grill emblem

Has anyone else ordered a reproduction 1971 Road Runner grill emblem from Year One? The one I received wasn't too bad looking although it doesn't look quite like the original. The frustrating thing was the fastening screw on the back of the emblem is too short to go straight through the hole in the ...

I bought the orange/black front and rear seat covers from a local shop who ordered them from Legendary Interiors. I was really happy with them. The colors and grain were identical to the originals. The rear seat cover was slightly too big and had to be trimmed down and resewed to fit properly. It ma...

The original road tests from 1971 in magazines such as Motor Trend, Road Test all mention the cool reflective stripes. I am not sure whether you could specify reflective or flat.

This is more for 71's than for 72's but I have noticed most B-bodies have the longer cable that attaches through the grill.

Yet in one of the original 71 print ads for the Road Runner I noticed a shorter hood pin cable that attaches under the hood to the front inner fender.

440+6 71 Runner on e-Bay?

I swear this car has been listed every other week on e-Bay for the last two months! Very nice red 440+6 71 Road Runner auto. I remember this car on a couple of Mopar magazine covers in the late 1990s. I suppose it's not meeting the reserve price or he has received a number of dead-beat bidders. It's...

I have seen a number of these suspicious listings on e-Bay. About a year ago, just about every week there was a Hemi 71 Cuda available as a "Buy It Now" one day auction for $12,000. This seemed to go on for a couple of months. The ad contained very little detail, anonymous bids only & one photo that...

This was a somewhat frustrating episode to watch. I respect the skill and workmanship that went into the car but cutting up a Road Runner to build a clone GTX from a 318 Satellite body is wrong. To someone who simply wants a cool looking car that goes fast, I suppose this is fine. As someone who rea...

The factory did make mistakes fairly often especially if they were out of a certain part, they would use another as a substitute. I owned a '71 Road Runner, number's match, unrestored that was completely Ralley Red in colour, yet the fender tag and build sheet listed the car as EL5 Bahama Yellow. Mi...

71-74 Mopars undervalued?

The prices of Mopars have gone out of this world since around 2001/2002 to the point where it is becoming strictly a hobby for the rich. I still believe, even given the current market, that the 1971-74 B-Bodies are really undervalued and a relatively good deal. The best example is the 71's which sti...

Speaking of the 71 RR in the Vanishing Point remake, I remember seeing the actual car used in the movie for sale in Hemmings. The asking price at the time was $18,000 in California. I never heard about it since seeing that ad.

Yes, the white wheels with the dogdish caps that are on Bruce's car are cop car rally wheels which were (I think) issued in the mid to late seventies usually found on Aspens and Volare's.

I believe the cop car Rally Wheels with dog dishes were made in the mid to late 1970's. The wheels are a different style, closer to that of a Rally wheel, than the standard steel wheel.

Sounds like you have a pretty nice Satellite. Not all cars come with two tags, you are one of a lucky few that have enough options on your car to make a second tag necessary. If you are looking to find out what all the codes mean you could look through the "Technical Archive" which is located on the...

I saw Shaft's Big Score last night which featured the movie's hero, John Shaft driving around in red '72 Satellite (brand new at the time it was filmed) in few good chases.
