Re: Another new 71 owner

With the car at the body shop, I started disassembling the motorhome 440 I picked up for it last fall... only have about 20 minutes in on it, having to squeeze it in between other projects before work :D

Re: Another new 71 owner

I am doing the same thing, just learning how to weld - so working on the drivers floor pan, engine compartment, small patch in the trunk pan - before I move to the exterior portions of the car. Looks like you did pretty good with the floor pan. Good luck! Scott. I too have been down that road - jus...

Re: Another new 71 owner

Been a minute since I updated. Got everything cleaned up, coated with with POR15 where applicable, welded up holes from where spot welds had been drilled out, treated the frame rails with "interior frame rail coating", welded the new pans in after a lot of in-and-out fitment, hammering and trimming ...

Re: My thoughts on Gear Vendors

Hugh, thanks for taking the time to post up your experience w- the GV. Thanks for reading it! I hope I helped you or anyone who reads this post make a decision if they ever thought of getting a gear vendors unit. TBH, the potential vibration issue you mentioned in your original post is what scared ...

Re: What happened to the Nest?

Is there any resolution, or workaround for the Photobucket site wanting $400/year for me using them to attach pictures to these boards? Will we be able to add images straight from our computers? No way I'm gonna pay Photobuced $400 a year. I know you're asking about direct uploads, which I can't he...

Very cool! Heck, it looks like your "lesser" secondary car is going to be nicer than my main 'resto'

Nice to see one making progress, motivates me to keep grinding through the floor pan replacement.

Re: Another new 71 owner

Guess it's time for an update. Hadn't done anything to the car since I dragged it home last fall until the past month or so... but I recently squared a few things away & made some time to start on the old bird. Been removing the rest of the old driver's side floor pan that needed to come out so the ...

Re: Another new 71 owner

If I recall correctly the motor mounts will also have to be changed for it to bolt in. The exhaust manifolds are also different, but I don't know if that will be an issue to just bolt it in for now. Appreciate the input. I was wondering about that. I have a 78 motor home motor, just sitting on a st...
