Re: Big block aluminum cylinder heads
Nice I built the same motor, no dyno yet, I went with the muscle motors setup, there were a few pieces with the kit I could use as the tolerances were way offmoparite wrote:Nice! What stroker kit did you use, 440 source?400 stroked to 470. Dynoed at 585 HP and 610 torque.

Re: Installation help with air grabber decal
Not missing anything, that’s how it was assembled. Decal installed after the pin. Pin floats, and was necessary to cut the decal around the pin head the remove. I changed the lever pin design on my current A/G, installed a nut insert on the outside, filled the pin hole outer surface, ran a screw an...

Re: Big block aluminum cylinder heads
eddy rpm here, the only thing I should have bought were the headswith the straight plugs, I hear they are better if you run headers, 2 of the plugs are a a real pain in the a$$ to change with the headers I have now. The price difference between the two types of eddys I believe were less than $100

Re: Help replacing Headlight switch and instrument bulbs
pulling the cluster is the easiest to change the bulbs, I'd suggest you do the headlamp relay upgrade while your at it, it is very easy to do, makes your lights brighter, its easy on your bulkhead connector

I just did this and turned it on, and it busted my arm completely, is there a position it has to be in before you attach the arm? I'd rather not got through this again as it was a huge pain in the a$$

Re: More than 4 speeds
Thx to both dangina and 71 bird , I guess supply isn't meeting demand , but what about tremec ,does anyone know of difficulty getting either 5 or 6 speed? Thx dave after the poor service my buddy has been experiencing with tremec, (brand new from tremec hasn't worked since day one, spent almost ano...

Re: Making a spreadbore out of a squarebore manifold
Well after goofing around with all this I settled on a Demon 1904. I forgot who made the suggestion to use a Demon but you were definitely right. It is certainly a modern version of the TQ with the short comings of the original engineered out. Of all the holleys and carters i've had on the car- thi...

Re: More than 4 speeds
How are the passon ratios for the 4speed? Id be ok with this if the first 3 gears are the same with the 4th being a highway gear. I heard of guys using the later 4sp od trannys from 78?and up, although they say the gear ratios are all wrong for a track...

Re: Four speed hump
2 humps were made. Bucket seat and bench seat which takes the long shifter handle. Bucket seat hump with or without console is same as the E-body hump. Bucket seat with buddy seat take the bench seat hump. The one that the reproduction companies call for without console is the bench seat one. Neat!...

Re: More than 4 speeds
Do a real comparison, it's not as high of a price as you might think. With the tremec you need a special bell housing, and clutch, and hyd throw out bearing, and shifter, and drive shaft, and the list keeps going on. I think I read that the 6 speeds req require that the torsion bar cross member had...

Re: More than 4 speeds
from all the swaps I read out there, if your willing to cut up your floor, the viper T56 transmission is the only way to go. You can get them now fairly cheap, 6 speeds so running 4:10's is no problem, great ratios, and able to handle high hp reliably. I would be going this route if i didn't put so ...

Re: More than 4 speeds
What is the cost by the way for Passon and do you need a core? no core needed, i was quoted around $4800, I've been on the waiting list now for a year and a half and jamie said it will be another 9 months before they get to me on the list...I think they can do it with your old core but why would yo...
