Sorry, but I must admit that I misread your original post....I was under the impression that you were looking to replace the motor for your own reasons and go to a big block....by all means, stick with the original motor....the 340 is a fine motor

if you can get the car for a good price, pull the 340 out and place a big block in its place. if its not a numbers matching deal, then its no great loss....jmo

I remember as a kid, on my 71 RR, having to pull the cables thru the grill/bezels....though I was the 4th owner of the car....Could it be possible that the different assembly plants did things differently?? My old 71 RR was a Windsor car....now my St. Louis car, I will check with, but with time bein...
