Re: Body paint code
Looks to me. Like one of those, "I'm gonna mess with some future owner's head. When they take this car apart someday," ha, ha! Seems to be working.

Re: Good showing at Barrett Jackson so far for 71-74 B-bodie
I would say that the buyer of the '74 360 Charger. Got themselves a heck of a great buy. You could tell looking at it. That there was way more money than that spent on the restoration of that car. If anything, the owner took a bath on it. It wasn't appreciated by the bidders for as good as it was. I...

Re: Good showing at Barrett Jackson so far for 71-74 B-bodie
It's nice to see the prices. But keep in mind that the price they show on their website. Reflects the 10% add on fee that you as a buyer have to pay BJ for the privilege of buying the car from them. That doesn't go to the seller. Then the seller winds up paying about another 10% to BJ for the privil...

Re: Petty Blue 71 RR's?
I wish I could tell you. But I honestly don't know. I'm sure it had to be a bunch. I can ask a third party I know who deals with Ken from time to time. Sometimes I really don't want to know. As it gives me a headache!

1972 SSP'S
Keep in mind that the dual black stripes on the hood and rear decklid. Were available as an option on a '72 SSP. Not just on a Road Runner. I've only ever seen one. It was a red car. Unfortunately for me. The few times I did see the car going down the road. He was always going the other way! I was s...

Re: Petty Blue 71 RR's?
The current owner of the Hemi car. Who I know. Bought it because Ken thought for sure it was somehow tied to Richard Petty. Due to all the "stories" being handed down with it. Owning it, or whatever might be. Ken even went so far as to tow it from out here in southern California. All the way cross c...

Re: EV2 SATELLITE SEBRING PLUS
There's one out here in southern California that is alive and well. It's a rubber bumper car. Unfortunately when you're young. You tend to be narrow minded. In other words. If it isn't a Road Runner, a GTX, or . . . it ain't a car. Hence, why Belvederes, Satellites and Sepring Plus cars were turned ...

Re: Where are we on the 'GTX badge' thing...
The metallic blue car that was on Moparts is an original. I've seen other original paint '72 RR/X air grabber cars that didn't have the 440 decals on them either. So maybe somewhere along the line Chrysler stopped putting them on the car. To save a step, and a couple of bucks. We used to joke that t...

Re: Where are we on the 'GTX badge' thing...
It wouldn't matter if you saw the gtx emblem part of the fender on this car. It's not there on this particular original Road Runner/GTX. Just because it's supposed to be there. Unfortunately doesn't mean the guy on the line installed the decals.

Re: Where are we on the 'GTX badge' thing...
I do recall there were two Basin Street Blue '72 air grabber 340 cars out here in my area of southern California that had the 340 decals on the sides of the fenders in 1972. One was a black C-stripe Road Runner, and the other was a white C-stripe Road Runner. In fact the only reason I even knew what...

With age our tastes change. When these cars first came out. I couldn't stand the looks of FJ6 Sassy-Grass Green. Even when they mistakenly painted my first '69 Daytona that color! But now at 64. I really liked the looks of the FJ6, and have for several years now. I like black too. But it's a lot of ...

Re: Where are we on the 'GTX badge' thing...
Both. They have RR badging, and GTX emblems on the car. The GTX emblems are on the front fenders, and they're sometimes on the trunklid on the '72s. I say it that way. As I have seen original '72 RRs with it missing on the trunklid. Must of been a Friday afternoon built car! On the '73 & '74 the GTX...
