Re: Top Speed 71' Roadrunner
Yeah, I'm sure Richard may of loved his Road Runner. So long as they were winning consistantly making him money. But facts are facts. The Charger unfortunately is more sleek in the frontend. Which is the first thing that punches a hole in the air for the car. The back of the car only punches the air...

Re: Questions for those w/ factory Rear Defrost in a 71/72
From what I saw over the years of pulling them out of cars in the wrecking yards. The '71 to '74 cars that have the rear window defroster option. Use the package shelf tray that has the factory punchouts for like if your car had a rear speaker. Yes, the middle defroster vent sits on top of the packa...

1973/74 Satellite Road Runner Decor Package
Recently I saw a Satellite advertised as having a "Road Runner Decor Package." Meaning a Road Runner hood from the factory on a Satellite. Having never heard of it. I eventually went and checked my dealer data books in my collection to see what it had to say for a code. Well as you probably guessed....

Re: Elastomeric Bumpers
Keep in mind that the original rubber bumper cars used rubberized paint sprayed on the bumpers. It's not just straight paint like most of the guys do now. To be safe. Be sure to have the chrome removed from your bumpers first. As just using primer and paint straight onto chrome. Doesn't hold up to w...

Re: Top Speed 71' Roadrunner
Yes, I can understand where you may think that the Road Runner and Charger are just basically the "same." But again, if you get the chance sometime to park your Road Runner next to a Charger. Even a '73 or '74 model. I'll be a real eye opener for you. That is, if you understand anything about aerody...

Re: One more out of States
Reminds me of the fellow who once owned the '70 hemicuda convertible, red with red interior. He sold it to a guy out of the country. Because he didn't want to run into it again! As he got in a tight spot, and needed the money. Well, come 10 years later, or so. A buyer state side bought the car, and ...

Re: INTERESTING CANOPY COMBO!
They look better if you have a C-pillar stripe to tone down the canopy top. So a white stripe would help. But according to the fender tag for this car. It didn't leave the factory with a stripe.

Re: Top Speed 71' Roadrunner
You may think a '71 Road Runner is more aerodynamic than the Superbird. But unfortunately they're a much wider car. Which means more drag, slowing it down. I luv the '71/'72 Runners. But when a friend of mine back in the day pulled up next to me in his '72 Charger so we could compare the two body st...

Dealer Installed Front Spoiler
In my '73 & '74 dealer accessories books it shows a dealer installed front spoiler you could order that goes underneath the front end. Illustration shows it on a Charger. But the description & application says it's for All Models. Stainless Steel #3621276 was $21.00, and Black Enamel #3621277 was $1...

Dealer Installed 8 Track Tape Player
I recall reading in one of the subjects posted about whether or not you could get a dealer installed 8-Track tape player in '71 or '72. I can't locate my '71 & '72 accessories books. As the majority of my Mopar literature collection is buried under my train layout. But I did find last night my "acce...

Dealer Installed Decals
It's been mentioned that dealers would do things to try and sell a car. I can remember that Larry Carter, who was the President of the local South Bay Roadrunners car club. Out here in southern California. Would stop in from time to time to admire an orange '69 440-6BBL hardtop automatic that R.O. G...

Reflective and Non-Reflective '72 RR C-Stripe
I was wondering if anyone else out there has/had a '72 Road Runner with a non-reflective C-stripe? My first '72 metallic blue canopy white top Runner had a non-reflective white C-stripe on it. I didn't even know back then that they came in reflective! Until one day another '72 Runner identical to mi...

Re: Tank Tracks
I've seen factory fender tags that show only the one code on it for the black stripes on the hood & decklid. Then I've seen some that have both codes on them for the black stripes. Same way with the broadcast sheets. Wish I would of had a copy of the broadcast sheet for the metallic blue car. But I ...

Tank Tracks
I was wondering if anyone out there has a broadcast sheet that shows their '72 Road Runner came with both the C-stripe, and the "tank tracks" across the frontend of their car. Ever since that gal came out with the HB1 Blue Sky years ago sporting both set of stripes. It's like eveyone else since then...

Re: anyone installed a custom rear spoiler?
Years ago when Dave Taylor owned his '71 Hemi Road Runner. He changed the color of the car from white to red, and installed an AAR 'Cuda spoiler on the trunk lid. In addition to installing a factory sunroof. This car was later bought for the Otis Chandler collection. Then sold after that. So there s...
