Re: Intro and HEMI question

Interesting....the fender tag is not coded for export or Canada (even though it was built in there - maybe it snuck back over the border)

Re: Door weatherstrip question

I was wrong, the rear ones sort of connect to the weatherstrip, the fronts are separate. Photos of the originals (front and rear) on my car...

Re: Intro and HEMI question

Only 55 hemi cars produced in 71 if i recall. Hay Andy, Did you happen to have a blue 69 Charger back in the day(late 80's)...

Re: Door weatherstrip question

If I remember correctly, the wide rubber piece at the top front of the door is attached to the rubber strip that runs down and seals the door to the body. I'll try to remember to take a photo tonight.

Re: Intro and HEMI question

As I recall, the person who found and bought it back in 2013 wasn't really a mopar guy. Hopefully in the cleanup they didn't lose any of the originality the car had.

I have a fuzzy photo of the fender tag. PM me with an email address if you want it.

Re: Intro and HEMI question

Welcome to the Nest Andy! Are you sure about the VIN number? I believe 154176 is the VON (vehicle order number) for the car. If so, this car came up on forums (yellowbullet I believe) about a year and a half ago (September 2013) when someone found/purchased it in PA. I don't really know much more ab...

Re: Decode Question

They color key the door frames to the interior color so that when the door is shut you see continuous interior color. Like say the car is blue with a white interior... If that inside edge of the door was not painted white, then when you shut the door and look at it from the inside, you'd see blue i...

Re: Decode Question

FYI, the secton white paint code (to the right of the interior code) is for the door frame. This color is keyed to the interior color, not the paint color on the body. You will not see a paint code for the silver along the bottom of the car.
