Re: Installation help with air grabber decal

Have to consider a part of “good design” back then was to design them to be assembled as quickly as possible with no real concern about servicing or lasting more than a few years.

Re: Installation help with air grabber decal

Not missing anything, that’s how it was assembled. Decal installed after the pin. Pin floats, and was necessary to cut the decal around the pin head the remove. I changed the lever pin design on my current A/G, installed a nut insert on the outside, filled the pin hole outer surface, ran a screw and...

Re: Grille hardware question for 71-72 roadrunner/satellite

Yes, that two piece grille grommet/retainers were used on various other models. Have seen them from places like R/T Specialties sold individually in the past. This may be the one , may want to call to verify it is the two piece version. Looks like the ’68 GTX, ’68-69 Charger grille kits contains the...

Re: Wiring harness question

Resembles a Mopar horn relay from another model car. May have had additional horns or some other accessory requiring a relay. Factory horn relay on that car is in the fuse block.

Re: Wiring harness question

No seat belt interlock in '72. Doesn't look original, bracket appears to have been flattened, Philips head firewall screw? Where do the wires go?

Re: Sway Bar Bushing woes

Those are the MOOGs pictured above that are not correct for this application. They will position the bar too close, if not in contact with the bracket. Again, that is not the profile of the factory original rubber bushings. Curious, there are two pictures above of two different bushing installations...

Re: Sway Bar Bushing woes

The FACTORY original front sway bar bushing had a profile like this on all ’70-72 B-bodies, the bar is off-set to one end slightly. Any aftermarket bushings having the bar pass through the center of it is NOT correct for this application, bar contact with the bracket (as pictured above) will be the ...

Re: CLIPS for shoulder belts

Brian, Larry is correct, ’71-72 B-bodies don’t use an extra mounting bracket under the headliner for the shoulder belt clips as the E-body does. Sounds like the installer may be confused. Clips screw directly through the headliner material into the roof/window structure.

Re: time to check heater core and expansion valve

Can’t locate a good pic just now, two wires coming from the blower motor, black & green. Black is the ground and should have a ring terminal on it that goes under a wiper motor mounting nut. Green should have a single male Packard connector with insulator that connects to a dark green wire coming fr...
