Re: The ultimate '71?
I thought I had read somewhere that the 'scoops' in the front fenders were to allow for more tire travel as the front downforce was great enough to force the tires up into the fenders...

Re: 8 3/4 or Dana 60?
I do 'believe' that the 9 1/4 has the same perch locations as the B-body...but they are roughly an inch narrower overall...which can allow for wider wheel options.redline337 wrote:I found out it is out of a 77 Fury. So it must be a 9 1/4.

Re: Original Style vs. Polyurethane Front End
PST has "polygrahite" bushings which are polyurethane bushings impregnated with grahite so they are self lubricating. However, they don't carry the lower control arm bushing in polygraphite, so if you go that route you'll have to use rubber or polyurethane for the lower. I believe their kit include...

Re: 8 3/4 or Dana 60?
Regarding "correctness", the Dana 60 only came behind four speed equipped 440 and Hemi cars. Another point to consider, passenger car Dana 60s are more expensive to obtain due to their relative rareness, but if you've already got one in your possession, it's a moot point. Good point...I should have...

Re: 8 3/4 or Dana 60?
If you are planning on building a RR/GTX clone and want to have it correct, go with the Dana...otherwise, use the 8 3/4 as mentioned above. My '72 has a 9 1/4 that someone put in it, but also have an 8 3/4. I'm going to stick with the 9 1/4 and possibly have it upgraded by Moser as per the Mopar Act...

Re: Alternator brackets
Yeah, this motor is a mutt of all sorts of parts from all different years, but they routed the belts as I mentioned. it's a 1975 440 block, standard, non-HP. I do have the 4-groove crank pulley, the forward-most 2 of them have no belts, the AC/alternator is running off groove 3, PS belt is running o...

Re: 72 disc brakes
Wanted to bump this...just for giggles, I checked Advance Auto Parts for these rotors. They have Wearever rotors for $54.99. They look just like the rotors I paid $200 for. Here's a link: Part No. YH141072 http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_Brake-Rotor---Front-W...

Re: Alternator brackets
Sorry this is such a late bump, but it's odd to see that layout. I have a '71 with 440 (it's a '75 block and a mix of parts) but it has A/C and PS on it and there is one belt that goes around the crank, A/C pulley, and alternator, there is another belt that runs around the waterpump, crank and PS pu...

Re: Inner Fender to Firewall Seam
Without going out and looking at mine, it's hard to say, but that seam usually is filled with seam sealer, then painted.

Re: Carlisle 2011
I drove up to the Spring Carlisle Swap meet this past weekend, hoping to find a part ot two that I might need....didn't see dick for 71-74 B-bodies, let alone SSp's/RR's. Pretty sad...guess I'll drive back up for the Mopar show.
Hope to run into a few of you there.
