Re: Startin to work on the Clone Runner
I used 2 different power tools. First I used this rubber bristle disc to remove the hard contact cement glue that was on there. 20190204_171819.jpg Close up of the wording - its made by 3M 20190204_171903.jpg Then I went over it with this fiber wheel. Cleans it up real nice with no heat to the metal...

Re: Startin to work on the Clone Runner
So I was able to get the guy who will be doing the body and paint to come over and look at the car. He said that he will change the quarters along with the outer wheel housings. I said "good" .... so that changes what I have to do. I will now be getting the car ready to go to his shop which will be ...

Re: Startin to work on the Clone Runner
Next, the drivers side - I started cleaning up the area where the half quarter was attached at the front. Dec 30 (9).jpg Dec 30 (10).jpg Looks like quite a bit of work involved to make that disappear. So before I jump in to do that I think I will ask the guy who will be doing the body and paint on h...

Re: Startin to work on the Clone Runner
Because of the sandblasting and crap getting everywhere, the primer in the engine bay has discolored (I didn't cover it up before blasting). So I scuffed the firewall and inner fenders and rad support & laid down a final coat of primer. Dec 20 (5).jpg Dec 20 (6).jpg Dec 20 (10).jpg Dec 20 (11).jpg D...

Re: Startin to work on the Clone Runner
Finally I was able to scuff the whole underside and lay down 2 good coats of epoxy primer sealer. At least the whole underside is now one color. :D Oct 28 (7).jpg Oct 28 (1).jpg Oct 28 (9).jpg After this, I'll put two coats of regular primer on top of that and then she can come off the rotisserie!! ...
