Re: Console shifter
Thanks Eric, I found a picture of an original b body t handle with plate on eBay and sure enough the t handle goes through the slider plate about one half inch and that is about how much I had to shorten my shifter. I bought another t handle and I think I can modify the slider plate with a fine file...

Re: Console shifter
Real dumb question, but is it possible my shifter and sliding plate came from a 1970 e body? I say this because I just saw a pic of the t handle shifter and it looked like it went into the sliding plate which also is your prnd21 indicator. My sliding plate was a little closer to the steel shifter ha...

Re: Console shifter
Got in on but I had to shorten the shifter more. The instructions said to put it in park and then thread the screw in. It also said on 1971 cars the screw hole may need to be enlarged slightly. An understatement on my car! The shifter may have been from a 1971, but the screw hole wasn't even visible...

Console shifter
I am trying to put a repop automatic shifter handle on my 73 Satellite that I am converting to console shift. The t handle shifter seemed way too long and I could not get the screw in. After I shortened the handle by trimming it on my belt sander the screw goes right in but the bottom of the handle ...

Re: console shift question
Found it! It was the 10-24 nc. I even found one with a thread cutter tip and washer head. Now to get it all together.. I also see that finally a rear bumper filler strip is being repo'd. Just doing some general all around cleanup and I'm hoping for a factory console look as well as a very factory fe...

Re: console shift question
Don't mess with hardware store Kung Fu stuff, call Frank Baldalson, and get the real deal. You will be happier in the long run. I don't know what has happened to me but I'm finding myself keeping everything factory correct looking. I even think I'm ditching those ill fitting hooker headers and goin...

console shift question
I am almost done converting my 73 Satellite from column to console shift. Does anyone know the bolt thread size for the three bolts that hold the shifter to the floor bracket? My local hardware store stops at 1/4 -20 which is way too big. 8/32 is wrong and 6/32 falls through. I didn't see anything e...

Re: Large rotor caliper brackets
Yeah the moparaction article was the one I used. I definitely got the wrong brackets but the seller was good about it and will give me a full refund. I did double check measurements starting at the one inch Mark and the brackets were no where near 3.5 inches. Now its either junk yard crawling or pay...

Large rotor caliper brackets
Just bought a set of large rotor pin type caliper brackets off eBay. I measure 3.25 inches center of pin hole to center of mount hole. An article at moparaction.com says 3.125 for small rotors and 3.5 c/c for large rotors. My car is in winter storage so no too easy to get to. What gives? Typo on mea...

Re: 73-74 SUBFRAME CONNECTORS
Happened to talk to Chris at Car Tool today and brought up this question. He confirmed that there are no plans for '73 and '74 B-Body subframe connectors. He also confirmed that the connectors for '71s and '72s will NOT work on '73 and up cars due to the isolated cross members. Afraid it will defin...

Re: Plug Wires Melting!
I installed Hooker headers on my beeper about a year ago and I have no complaints except that they burn my wires within a few drive cycles. I have no clue what to do. I have heat shields on the boots and wires and it still melts through. Just replaced my wires again and the car is running great, bu...

Re: 73-74 SUBFRAME CONNECTORS
I spoke to a good friend and fellow Mopar Head also ASE certified today. He thinks I should buy the 71-72 frame connectors and he can look at them. Together we conclude they may match up to the rear frame rails and floor pans nicely. We think the issue will be where they connect to the front due to ...

73-74 SUBFRAME CONNECTORS
Ok, Why I am having such a hard time finding subframe connectors for the 73-74 years? USCARTOOL has some listed for 71-72 but says there are no modifications they would recommend for the isolated 73-74 trans k member. The only ones I can find are from competition engineering and it looks like I am g...

Re: Steering Column Question
To my knowledge the only differences in shafts are between manual steering and power steering cars and the difference is in the length i can't imagine they would have made a power steering column shift shaft, a power steering floor shift shaft, a manual steering column shift shaft, and a manual ste...
