Re: Keisler 5 speed conversion
Yeah the TKO , even with the refinements i added , isn't an 883. THe only real complaint of the trans now is I HATE having to Porsche shift the thing but it's what i got and was available at the time. It would have been nice have the 883 conversion then. Still having 5 is a huge difference.

Re: Decklid alignment problem
These might not be good ideas but....
Did the hinges get bent or pushed out of shape?
Is it the original deck lid? Same Year? Just thinking , possibly the attachment points changed a little between certain years?
Thats all I got. Hope you figure it out.

Re: Best Replacement Quarter Panels?
Well the quarter showed up from AMD today. It looks pretty good. There is plenty of room extra in the flanges and not too many waves in the panel. Three to be exact and to be honest those will disappear under the primer coats and block sanding. The only real obvious boo boo was the alignment of the ...

Re: Best Replacement Quarter Panels?
Like the mans tagline says, " It's a fine line between hobby and mental illness." I'll take it :) the biggest problem is finding a shop I can rent at reasonable price for a year. If I'm going to pull it apart again, it will be the last time. So I'm gonna spend the next year getting all the parts I n...

Re: Best Replacement Quarter Panels?
SO much for that idea. I talked with AMD and their skin is just a touch too short- So a full quarter for a 72 is on the way and I'll have to swap the marker over as well. The 71's are out of stock and they don't have any plans on running a new batch anytime soon. The Goodmarks, Golden Lions and othe...

Re: Best Replacement Quarter Panels?
WEEEEELLLLLL , When I rolled it, it crushed the rear wheel flare pretty good. I managed to unfold the wheel well with hammer and dolly ( amazing how well the old techniques work ),and sectioned in a panel around the wheel opening. It took alot of mud to cover that sin. I might just look at doing the...

Re: Slammed/lowered 71/72 RR pictures and info ?
As I mentioned, I have the Magnum Force unit mostly because they were the only ones making it at the time. It has proven to be trouble free and served me well for 25 years and @ 40,000 miles. It was one of the few exceptions to the mantra of using factory parts ( from any year or car)to build the be...

Re: 73 Sebring Plus
If you are looking for parts for the sunroof I have a complete 73/74 manual unit in storage. Contact me and we can discuss further as I had a new cable to crank shoe made for it that wears out and cause them to slip. there are a couple of minor parts missing- like 4 screws and the socket head cap sc...

Best Replacement Quarter Panels?
I thought I saw a thread on here about the differences between the new quarter panels available, but damned if I can find it. I see we have three choices for a 71 drivers side 1: Golden 2 : Goodmark 3: AMD- when they are back in stock Just looking at them the AMD panel looks the best- they have the ...

Re: Slammed/lowered 71/72 RR pictures and info ?
The rear is pretty simple - just flip the front mount for a 2" drop. Check the clearances and adjust the driveshaft angles, ( if needed) and you should be good to go. I would loosen the front eye bolt and re-tighten it to specs once it has the weight on it at the new ride height. I dropped mine 3" i...

Re: Matching original colors?
If you have a section of unfaded paint take it into the paint shop. Most of them have a machine that can "read" it and give them a custom mixture to match it.

Re: Splash Shields
Yup, those are for the soft shields on the engine compartment access holes. No rivets sine they need to be removable for clutch linkage and front end alignments. I think the same guy sells sets of them as does Megaparts. I know Ive seen just the clips.

Belated Welcome to the board.
Nice to see new projects going. I particularly like that custom 4 speed hole in the tunnel before you started the repair.
