Re: LOADED 71 RR on Ebay

Re: LOADED 71 RR on Ebay

Actually, with a big enough cam, even a new booster isn't going to do it. I'm running a Lunati VooDoo with about 550 lift, and I get about 5" of vacuum. I put a new booster on when I was building the car, so I added a reservoir. That didn't cure it. Added the pump (almost identical set up to how the...

Re: GB5 True Blue Metallic pics needed please

Agree here, that looks like B7 blue to me as well. I know for sure this was B5, I had it mixed and painted it myself many many years ago. Lacquer... now how long ago was that? :)

Re: Legendary Seat Covers

Nope, stuff it between the foam and the cover itself. That way you can put as much as you need, where you need it. You can sort of taper the levels if needed so there aren't any lumps. When I'm recovering a set of seats, I always cover the foam with a layer of the angel hair first, it also makes the...

Re: Legendary Seat Covers

There's an easier way to fix that. Without taking the covers back off, go to Wal Mart or a local crafts shop, get some quilt batting, angel hair, Fiberfill, whatever you'd like to call it, and tear pieces off it, stuff it in from the seat bottom, into the places you need the cover to be tighter. You...

Re: Tach wiring

the top post gets a full 12 volt, switched power supply, normally taken off the yellow accessory circuit. If you look around under your dash, you should see a yellow connector with 3 holes in it to take the power from. The bottom post (with the spade nutted on) is where you connect your tach lead

Re: need to find a wiper knob

Someone was remaking them last year, but I can't find out who it was now. I had to wait and watch e-bay to get mine, and they were selling for around $30-50

Re: Need help with engine numbers matching

The 727 is stamped the same way as the engine, on the side of the case. I think there's a pad on the passenger's side, about 1/3rd the way up the side of the tranny case

Re: What is your longest roadtrip in your Sat/RR?

1974, I bought my first GTX, a '68, 440 auto car. I was stationed at Ft Campbell KY, and home was 420 miles away. Used to drive it home almost every weekend, but somewhere along the way, we got a little game started called "Let's get a beer". We'd climb in the car, and see how fast we cold make it f...

Re: Power brakes; where to connect the vacuum hose?

Doesn't really matter, I'd hook it to the manifold if it was me, someone is gonna tell you that when the butterflies open, the vacuum at the carb base is gonna drop, but if the butterflies are open, you're tryin to go fast anyway right? :D

Re: HOW DO YOU ALL FEEL ABOUT "REBODYING A CAR"

People can swap dash and fender tags but they are not going to swap the vin stamped into the body. At least not easily. I think the people who do this don't know that the vin is stamped into the body or where. That's one good thing to find a fraud. If any one out there knows where the vin is stampe...

Re: 71 GTX- PAINT ORG. OR A DESIREABLE COLOR

For a car as original as yours, I'd say paint it back the original color. There are plenty of clones out there that are high impact colors, and draw attention, but if you change the color, your car is no longer a matching numbers car. (The paint doesn't match the numbers on the data plate) And Gunme...
