I think the only ethical and legal way of going about the issue of cloning a car from an existing fender tag/broadcast sheet is to simply clone an existing Satellite body using the correct options/colour combos based on the Road Runner/GTX tags, thus creating an exact replica of the original car. Yo...

I completely understand the ethics of why it shouldn't be done. When someone makes a fake car convincingly real, this can create a lot of distrust in the hobby. At the same time I can understand that it's different to want to re-create a car that actually existed and having the proof by means of the...

This is a tough call. I think if someone rebodies a Satellite from a GTX VIN ID and they state they have done so, I don't mind it. Although I suppose it is illegal to do. I've had a friend try to correctly restore a car that was a complete basket case. It needed new quarters, fenders, frame rails, f...

My Car on Mopar Action site
It's been a while since I visited the "Mopar Action" magazine website. I just noticed they put a picture of my car in their "Reader's Rides" section.
It's the orange Road Runner titled "Flew North". I gave them the technical info but they wrote the description.

I agree that the dollar value shouldn't be the sole reason for buying and restoring these cars. On the other hand, it is comforting to know that your pride & joy does have some monetary value in the marketplace. Should you find yourself in a position where you have to sell or may want to trade up to...

It's odd what the perception of value is on these cars. Most people are agreeing it's worth between $1000 - $2000. A 71 Cuda in the same condition, same engine with similar options, colors etc. I've seen sell for $15,000 - $20,000! Doesn't really make sense other than the market is dictating that Cu...

It was a rather strange car. It was built on September 2/70. I couldn't find a speck of Bahama Yellow paint anywhere on the car. The car was fully numbers matching with the fender tag, build sheet, rad support VIN, engine stamp with the VIN and transmission stamp with the VIN along with the door VIN...

Carpet colour?
Did four speed cars only come with black carpeting regardless of the interior colour? I had a four-speed Road Runner with the saddle tan interior but had, what looked to be, an original black carpet. Was this standard? Mistake at the factory? The car was EL5 Bahama Yellow on the fender tag but was a...

Speaking of finding interesting things in old cars, my dad used to own a 1970 Ford Maverick (pardon the Ford story!) and he pulled back the carpets and found a styrofoam coffee cup from the Ford assembly line. Printed on the cup was the Ford logo and something to the effect of "Remember guys, Ford q...

Pictures and descriptions can be found at www.ediecast.com. Go through their search to find it. The link is too long to type out here.
It can also be found on e-Bay quite easily.
