Re: 71 tailights and marker lights
I've seen the marker lights at one of the meets going for approximately $100 NOS If i recall correctly. [http://www.jacksautoparts.com] Had them. They are not listed on the web site but he has a lot of stuff not listed. He might even have the taillight lens. http://www.jacksautoparts.com/ Can't get ...

Re: 71' RR rim options and production question
What plant did your car come from? Also need the last #,s of the vin. I' not a expert on the production #'s but this is what you need to figure it out. This sound like a question for Galen Govier.

Re: 72 Satellite What's it Worth?
This car has 9 1/4 rear not the 8 1/4. Note the taper in the axle tube and large brake drums. Thats a plus, it's a strong rear. Over all it doesn't look to bad. I'd take a closer look at the trunk and floors. Bring a good battery and some starting fluid if you want to hear the 440 fire up. Just don'...

Re: How much is this worth?
in need of a cosmetic restoration on this extremely rare example. I see rot coming threw in a few places. Not one pic of the floors, fender tag, or build sheet. I imagine the floors need replacing. The 1/4's, doors, and rocker panels have issues. Not cosmetic! Extremely rare??? Not in my opin...

Re: Tilt steering in a '71?
A tilt column was also available for the Challengers. I never seen one up until a few years ago. I bought a 78 Power Wagon years ago that had a tilt column in it. I don't think it was an option so i don't know if someone put it in or it was factory. It was a GM column but it didn't look hacked in.

I believe they are 5/16 18 but not positive. You might want to replace them with stainless steel.

Re: 440 vacuum at idle
Why do you have the vacuum advance hooked up to manifold vacuum? You will get the most vac at closed throttle. This is the opposite of what should be going to the vac advance. I am not familiar with Edelbrock carbs but there should be a port somewhere for the vac advance. You might want to put on th...

Re: Rocker arms
There is no adjustment on stock mopar rockers. The lifters take up the slack when everything is working correctly. Did you check the push rods? one or more may be bent. You didn't say if you are hearing any noise from the valves. If not it sounds like you have other issues.

Nobody mentioned the motor mount brackets are different. Also the the torsion bars are thicker in the big block cars. The skid plates where also on the hemi's.

Re: 71 340 RR
The 340 was a down grade from the stock 383. I could never figure out why people wanted a smaller motor? It sure wasn't the gas prices.

Re: rare hood
People have to throw in "rare" to get people to look at stuff on ebay. I didn't notice any pics of the trunk or engine compartment. You would think he at least could have cleared the debris off the floors. Oh but then he would have shown the rust. LOL

Re: 440 Build
Just throwing in my 2 cents, Just keep in mind the cam, converter and rear gear work together depending what you want the car to do. As in race cars the cam will start building power at a certain rpm. The converter will hook when the cam hits it's power band. The rear gear puts the power to the pave...

Re: HOW DO YOU ALL FEEL ABOUT "REBODYING A CAR"
People can swap dash and fender tags but they are not going to swap the vin stamped into the body. At least not easily. I think the people who do this don't know that the vin is stamped into the body or where. That's one good thing to find a fraud. If any one out there knows where the vin is stamped...
