I am not very imaginative w/ wheels - I have always liked 15 x 7 Magnum 500s, so these were always going to be on my '400-4 72 SSP.

Re: 1972 RR/GTX Value?
I just purchased a 72 rr/gtx with only 24K orig miles in amazing condition for 18,200....not and air grabber but its all numbers matching 440 with a bucket seat console 4 speed....I WOULD PASS ON THAT CAR AND LOOK FOR SOMETHING THAT IS LESS OF A MAJOR PROJECT... Agreed. Considering what you would h...

Recommended Car Stereo?
Hi, I have a question regarding car stereo. I have a 20 y.o. system which has seen better days in my '72 SSP It looks like a jukebox (big chunky AM/FM radio-cassette) and I want to upgrade to CD/MP3 etc. The player is under dash and held in by a couple of screws / bracket (it was back in '91), so dr...

Re: 1971-72 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus
10,700 SSP's in 71, but don't have any driveline breakdowns on that. 21,399 SSP's in 72, no driveline breakdown either. How many are left? No idea really. 10-20% maybe? I will say you don't see them at shows - restored as SSPs - very often. I've seen a few done as GTX or RR clones. That's why when ...

1971-72 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus
Hi,
Any idea how many of these cars were built or any way of knowing how many are left?
Thanks,

Re: 72 Satellite What's it Worth?
Hi, I guess it would depend upon what you want to do with the car. Do you want to restore it, make an RR clone, make a drag car / street car etc. The beauty of the '71 / '72 Satellites is that they have the same body styles as their more desirable B-body sisters and that fortunately (or unfortunatel...

Re: 1972 SSP 400-4BBL Progress
Hi, Thanks for the comments. I have some nice stills I took over Xmas, which includes the completed and factory correct engine bay (they are on Mrs. Satellite's camera...). As far as the SSP is concerned, I still have a fair bit I want / need to do - the paint is too white (mismatched - should be EW...

Looks better on full screen IMHO. Freshly ported / dynoed 400-4BBL (modest improvement to 304 BHP)/ new tranny / all brakes / suspension / fuel system redone. Next up in 2010 bodywork / EW1 respray + Argent Silver and interior.

Protecting / Immobilizing Your 70s Mopar......
Hi, I have finished the current workscope on my SSP for now and am planning the next stage. The restoration is a rolling one - drivetrain / undercarriage etc. has been overhauled / restored and the car could be driven from Maine to Baja if necessary. Problem now, of course, is that before the car co...

Re: Factory Original ?
Interesting topic. I checked the tag / sheet on my '72 SSP 400, a car I have owned since 1991. I had the engine completely rebuilt / ported and tranny / suspension etc. rebuilt this year. The original carb was a 4-BBL TQ w/ spreadbore on a the 400, whereas the data tag says the car is a 2-BBL. The c...
