Re: Carlisle Rocks

Yea, for the 73/74s I've seen that kind of font. I've just never seen it on a 71. There are some other things about the car that seem a bit... ummm.. suspect as well.

Re: Carlisle Rocks

Bruce - we couldn't be happier at how well received the shirts were. They looked awesome, and the artwork looked great on the cover of the show program and on the award plaques too! Way to go man! I sure hope they can get at least the Plymouth license before next year!

Re: Gas Tank color

Eric, Really? I didn't know that. The tank that was under my Road Runner (also an early LA car) is black, but after everything this car has been through in it's life, I never even considered the fact it could be original (the finish, or even the tank itself). Now I'll have to go out in the shop and ...

Re: Gas Tank color

From the factory they would be the natural galvanized finish. That's what I'll be doing on Project Blue Bird. I've seen a few (on various generations of Mopars) that where done with roll on or spray on bedliner. If you are building a driver and not after a totally factory look, I can sure see how th...

Re: Yay for this forum!

I've gotta say this thread couldn't come at a more perfect time for me. I've been pretty frustrated lately that I simply haven't had the time to invest into the technology of the site. There are a TON of things I'd love to add and ways I'd like to develop the community, but the time just hasn't been...

Re: 1971-72 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus

I was thinking actual survival rate, but really there's no way to know how many are really left. I bought my SSP 6 years ago now. I think I paid $3500 for it, and felt I got a really good deal on a mostly unmolested, #'s matching 383-2bbl car. I'd say if you see a decent 71/72 B-body come up for sal...

UPDATE ON CAR IN ORIGINAL POST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :stirpot: Not much to update. As of tonight, Project Blue Bird has been sent to her room without dinner to think about what she did. Got that one slide on the regulator fixed, only to re-asse...

Re: 1971-72 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus

10,700 SSP's in 71, but don't have any driveline breakdowns on that. 21,399 SSP's in 72, no driveline breakdown either. How many are left? No idea really. 10-20% maybe? I will say you don't see them at shows - restored as SSPs - very often. I've seen a few done as GTX or RR clones. That's why when I...

Questions for those w/ factory Rear Defrost in a 71/72

Hey all! Working on Project Blue Bird, and I just want to confirm a couple things. For anybody that has an original rear defrost car, if your car has the original package shelf, which did it have - with speaker grilles or without? Also, does the bezel sit flush to the package shelf cardboard, or doe...

Re: Be sitting down when you read this...

Worked on the Bird again last night. Got the driver's door window completely assembled and working. Though through the process of getting everything aligned correctly, I managed to break one of the welds on the new slides for the regulator. *DOH!* Looks like we should be able to clean it up and re-w...

Re: My First Ride!!

Being the owner of an originally EL5 Bahama Yellow Road Runner, I feel obligated to comment on this. I am a firm believer that Bahama Yellow (aka Butterscotch if it's on a Dodge) is a GREAT color for either someone else's car, or to be painted over with GB5 True Blue! :D That said, EV2 is a very coo...
