11/09/2003 - The passenger side gets finished!

To start with, a quick shot of the freshly blasted engine bay. If you look closely in this picture, you can see the "dip" line that shows how far the cars were dipped coming down the line. http://www.roadrunnernest.com/Project/2003-11-09/2003-11-09%20006.jpg Ok, and here we go, the mud work is done....

10/26/2003 - Some mud work and start on the other side.

Here's some of the mud work to blend the new panel in, and fix a couple of dings. http://www.roadrunnernest.com/Project/2003-10-26/2003-10-26%20001.jpg http://www.roadrunnernest.com/Project/2003-10-26/2003-10-26%20005.jpg Some sanding and a lot of the red is gone, and the original Bahama Yellow show...

Some patch work on the new quarter before we hang it.

Part of the original rocker panel we cut out will stay with the car. ;)

Here's the panel we are going to use on this side. It came off the B5 Road Runner parts car I brought home from Richmond, VA a couple years ago.

It's quite simple, actually...

There aren't as many reproduction parts for the 71-74's as there are for other year Mopars, for the same reason there aren't as many Mopar reproduction parts as there are for the Brand-X cars. It's simply not cost effective to invest the money into making a product with such a limited audience. Plym...

Sounds great... good progress!

Brian, Nice to see ya again! Your car looks like it is coming along quite well. That is such a neat car. Have you had the opportunity to check out the 71 Satelite Sebring Plus survivor that was making the rounds this year? It's an FE5 car as well, but with a white interior. Very striking color combo...

10/27/2003 - Not in the red anymore! Passenger side work...

It's really wierd to see my car in yellow. I've always known it was under the red, but to see it in person makes me realize I'm totally making the right decision painting it blue! http://www.roadrunnernest.com/Project/2003-11-27/002.jpg The only remaining big section of red on the car, and tha...

1971 Factory Interior Hood Release - Info Needed

I'm trying to track down which handle is "correct" for my September built LA car. I've seen both the chrome handle and the black handle, and I currently have a black handle setup for the car. I've seen some later built (i.e. Jan/Feb) original cars (or at least cars with what are claimed to be factor...

Where were those numbers?

Were they cast into the side of the block on the passenger side? If so, it does sound like you have a 76 motor. On the ID pad next to the distributor hole should also have at least a year stamping on it if I remember correctly. That could also help confirm the date of the block. Still can be built j...
