Thanks for the help guys, did not think there was much I could do with it. I will probably send it out to have it checked out. I don't think it was a factory tach car.

73 Road Runner Tach Problem

Just bought a used tach for my 73 RR. Works, but will not go back down to zero after being shut off, stays around 1500 - 2000. I took it back out and when you move it by hand sometimes it will go back down to 0, but most of the time the needle gets hung up. Is very easy to manually push it back to 0...

I would test the blower motor before buying a diffrent one, run a wire from your positive battery terminal to the green wire on the motor and see if it works (I am assuming the motor is still on the car, if not you will need to run a ground wire also). Or you could bring it to a shop.

FWIW, I've had the dash in and out of my car so many times it's no longer a big deal at all... you know what they say about "experience being the best teacher.

The 2 side ones are a pain to get, but not impossible.

I like them, 73 and 74's need all the help they can get in the grill area. I think I may order a set for my 73, with those and the hideous bumper guards off they look ok from the front IMO.

Hook them up, if it charges, good. If not, swap them, your not going to hurt anything.
