Well, really you need everything else. The regulator tells the alt what to do by what it see every where else. You could let the alt run wide open, but that would not be good for the battery for long.

Because the body structure won't be sitting square when it's on the suspension. Any unibody is built in a jig, so that everything is lined up, and square when it's welded. I had one like that on my 69, the owners manual shows how to make, and install it. I'd like a modern one not bolted to the bumper, one you can actually trust.

Actually yes. Back in the day, I noticed a difference in oil pressure between a Fram HP1, and a regular Fram filter. I think the HP1 had less pressure, but proabaly flowed better. Now a days, most ALL filters by pass most of the oil anyway. The bypass valve opens at way to low of a pressure. Mopar h...

Some filters don't have a anti drain valve, try a completely different brand, or number.
