TREMEC TKX 5-speed kit for 1971-1974

Has anyone done a Tremec 5-speed conversion with a bench or buddy seat? I'd like to know if it is possible to use the proper mid-length shifter in the factory location.

Rear bumper guards - was that available??

I came across this engineering diagram pertaining specifically to 71 2-doors. The components look pretty specific to these models. Were they really a thing?

Headlamp delay relay and reminder buzzer locations

Hello everyone. I am looking for info on where to locate the headlamp time delay relay and also the reminder buzzer. I know they were separate options but was it possible to order both simultaneously? I have a 3488391 relay & bracket assy. I found these screw holes in the LH side cowl near the door ...

Rear window defogger wire routing and switch position

Of the three possible locations, was there a rhyme or reason to which switches were mounted where? I selected the left most position for RR defogger switch. That is the only switch I have. Also, can anyone post a photo of the wire routing under the package tray. I believe there are 3 clips. Finally,...

Re: Side mirror replacement glass

I had a local glass shop make a piece for my passenger side. Perfect fit and convex glass for a wider view!

Adding A/C, need help with brackets, pulleys, belts

Hi all, I'm adding A/C back to my factory air 71 with 440 and need a good diagram or photos of the final product, specifically the alternator mount/bracket(s), strap, idler pulley and belts. I have an alternator strap which is 13-3/8" in overall length. I also have a cast iron alternator mount which...

Re: Removing (separating) upper control arms

Thank you for the reply. This will likely be a winter project. I'll post an update. I run G60-15 bias ply tires and the stability on straight stretches is a little squirmy. I'm going to try Dick Ross ' s upper control arms to get some more caster to see of that helps.

Removing (separating) upper control arms

I'm looking for any tips on separating upper control arm ball joint from spindles while in the car (excluding pickle fork). I'd like to be able to reuse the parts and avoid marring restored components. I read somewhere a guy suggested a bolt and coupling nut to act as a "spreader" but yet to try it....

Tuff Wheel with PADDED horn cap

Gentlemen, I've finally got a hold of the correct padded style vinyl steering wheel center cap for a Tuff Wheel which seems to be the same used later on Lil Red Express and possibly others. My question is whether this cap should be color keyed with interior color or just black. I have a 71 with blue...

Re: Calling all 1973-74 sunroof owners

Doesn't fall into the 73-74 group but too neat not to share. I bought a core dash pad from a guy with THE coolest Satellite Sebring Plus I've ever seen. Factory 400-4bbl, front a rear sway bars, Sure Grip 8-3/4, power windows, buckets, console, A/C, disc brakes, Rallye dash with clock, fender mount ...

Re: repro non rally dash tach

I think it's cool. Seems like I hardly ever see standard instrument clusters much these days and this could possibly be a decent compromise in lieu of a swap. I just wish these repro tach were made in the correct 0-7000 rpm range.
