Hello, can anyone tell me if a 8 3/4 rear diff. Out of a 65 1/2 ton would fit my 71 SSP? It has the 8 1/4 now.

So you dont its a good idea? I'm just looking to replace my current 8 3/4 open axel with a sure-grip that has a better gear ratio. I can get both axles for about 300 bucks.ILUV72RRs wrote:Why would you want to purchase two weak rearends? They weren't meant for serious power.

Hello, I have the opportunity to purchase two 9 1/4 rear ends, one from a 1976 Cordoba and the other is from a 70s Polara. Can some one tell me if one or both would work in my 71 ssp? they are both sure-grip one is 3:55 the other is 3:90. Thanks

Power steering vs manual steering column
Can any one tell me the difference between a power steering column and a manual steering column in the 71-74 b bodys? Could the manual one be converted to work with power steering.

I did remove the paint as well as adding an extra ground wire.

Sorry its a 71 satellite with the 383 and a electronic ignition conversion kit. when I put a new control module in it would run pretty rough for about 5 minutes or so the quit working.

Can someone please tell me why my control module keeps failing? I install a new one and within 5 minutes with the engine running it stops working.

I'm getting spark at the coil, according to my multimeter the pick up coil checks out ok. I didn't know if there was a fuse or some other wire I should look for. the distributor does turn.
