Re: Generation 3 Hemi Swap
Mopar Performance was selling a newer style 5.7 / 6.1 liter Hemi with a carbureted intake. Than maybe no need for much wiring. But would still need some, ie, crank trigger to set off the spark, etc.

Re: bellhousing
a true survivor car i owned was a '73 Charger Rallye. 39K one owner miles when i bought it and every receipt for any service ever done [ at the selling dealership ] was with it. The bellhousing and inspection plate were both the natural metal color. Have not heard of painted bellhousings, but differ...

Re: It was fate
Glad to hear you escaped damage. I'd have had a hard time not saying something to the mustang idiot.
Anymore when i see a driver going down the road looking into their cell phone, i lay on the horn.
At least it makes them look up for a second ..........

Re: Alternator
I bought a 1 wire , 100 amp alternator made by Tuff Stuff . Made in USA. Regulator not needed anymore. the one wire goes straight to the battery and puts in approx 14 volts. ......But without the regulator and 3 wires attached , that used to go to the old alternator -- the factory gage doesn't work ...

Re: Winter upgrades/ Pwr to Man Steering saga
Got it completed :D Had to cut about 2" off the stock steering column , and about 7" off the conversion shaft. Learned a thing or two about the steering column and the best way to put it in. [ seperated from the 3 bolt bracket with the 'plastic crash crush shoes' ] Luckily the electric connectors pu...

Re: Roadrunner with Thermoquad
Just to put a plug in here since you mentioned Thermoquad - i had a factory thermoquad rebuilt + slightly upgraded by a guy in Georgia whose business goes by the name of "Demon Sizzler". This was on a 74 Cuda 360 4 speed. Was very happy with that thermoquad !!

Re: Winter upgrades/ Pwr to Man Steering saga
Well, I should update. I got the manual steering box bolted in, and put the steering column back in with the "conversion shaft" pinned [5/16" roll pin] onto it - too see how much has to be cut off the "conversion shaft " [ 3/4 " round to Double D ]. The conversion shaft comes with a ,Double D to 36 ...

Re: Bad day to drive the Roadrunner
Sorry to see the car got hit. Glad damage is not to bad, or structural . Well, when you get it back on the road it will be with new engine, hopefully that is some meager consolation. At least you are out there driving it !!! Last valance i had damaged was when i let a friend drive my former 70 Charg...

Re: Winter upgrades/ Pwr to Man Steering saga
Thanks gcoupe72 ! Well, did not get the conversion done yet. Busy week, and getting another car ready for drags on friday. Anyhow, The power steering box did fit out the bottom, did not have to remove the exhaust manifold. Had to pull the full steering column out, because there is a solid steel pin ...

Winter upgrades/ Pwr to Man Steering saga--Done !
Started doing some "upgrades" on the Sebring Plus. I'll never use the A/C probably, and it needed charged anyhow, so i removed all the engine compartment pieces [ yes i kept them ] to clean up the engine compartment. Well, Big block, A/C ,+ Power steering equipped cars use an idler pulley for the wa...

Re: t-handle question?
My original T-handle was not attached when i bought the car, it was in the console box in pieces, i put it back together , looked good felt good, seemed to actuate ok. But then i pulled the top woodgrain plate off to better align the console over the shift mecahnism, and when re-assmenbled the darn ...

Re: What's it Worth? 70 Charger R/T
'70 R/T came standard with buckets, but you paid for the armrest/buddy seat or the console. engine + tranny, suspension, sway bar diameter, shock rates, blackout rear panel, woodgrain dash, stripe, front discs [ i think] + rear brake size, door bulges, maybe light pkg ,were basically the R/T pkg. Mo...

Re: How Long Should You Keep a Car?
Hmmmn, tricky subject. I've owned a fair amount of Mopars, mostly from the 70's / late 60's. Some i bought because they were rare, and i wanted "something different" [ 300 Hurst / Apsen Super Coupe ]. Nearly every car, when i sold it, had been improved in at least some small mechanical way from when...
