6-bbl vacuum hoses
Any one know where I can get the correct vacuum secondary hoses and tee for the 440-6bbl carbs. Holley told me they didn't provide them.

Re: And so the transformation begins
With all that heft and power from the 440, not only are you going to need a bigger radiator, but also heavier torsion bars and leaf springs to handle the added power. The suspension for the 318 is way too light.

Re: Torque Box inclosed
Yes, both St. Louis built cars. The automatic was built in August and the 4-speed in November, 1970.quapman wrote:71X-mark.....
Were both your cars built at the same plant?
Also, I know of another '71 GTX automatic that does not have them. Don't know where his was built.

Re: Torque Box inclosed
Transmission? didn't matter. For 71-72' b-bodies all 426 & 440 engine options received factory torque boxes, including a box plate near the rear spring shackle pivot, I would have to assume all 73-74' "U" coded cars got them as well. I've had two '71GTX's, one automatic and one 4-speed. Only the 4-...

Re: Headlight & Wiper Knob Restoration
Thanks for the info on restoring the headlight & wiper knobs. Regarding attachment of the wiper knob - yes the '71's are fastened with a hex key. Also, the discussion surrounding the dash "GTX" emblem - I have both types from a '71 GTX (one with and one without the chrome outline). However, the chro...

Headlight & Wiper Knob Restoration
I noticed in the Interior Hood Release post photo by 72RoadRunnerGTX the restored headlight and wiper knobs with the nice blue painted inset. If 72RoadRunnerGTX or anyone else reads this, could you let me know who restored the knobs and how costly they were? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: GTX OR ROADRUNNER?
Regarding the rarity of the 1971 Sebring Plus vs. the GTX, according to the Chrysler Production Option Code Book, total production of the Sebring Plus was 10,700 and GTX was 2,942 (2,703 shipped). How many of each type remain today, I cannot say.

Re: Manual Mirror Gasket
Thanks for your help. I'll try RPM Restorations. Year-One seems to only have the mirror gaskets for the racing type mirrors.

Manual Mirror Gasket
Anyone know where I can but the rubber manual mirror gasket for a '71 B-body? I believe these same mirrors were used on E-Bodies. All I can find are gaskets for the racing mirrors. Also looking for the rubber door end cap weatherstriping located at the top front part of the door where the window gla...
