Re: Slammed/lowered 71/72 RR pictures and info ?
Mostly factory, or at least the factory style suspension. I was thinking flip the spring mounts in the rear and either aftermarket leaf springs, or possibly a 1" lowering block. 2" drop spindles up front.

I have heard more than a 2" drop and you will have driveline tunnel clearance problems. Can anyone confirm this? I'd like to drop mine about 2-4".

Re: Car is home from paint!
I got a few things done. I just took her out for a spin today, and realized how much is left to do! This picture is from last summer.

Re: steering gear box
I have only heard good things about these. Spendy, but more modern technology rather than "fixing up" old technology like firm feel (which I have also heard good things about). Just figured I'd show you another option!

Re: '71 GTX rocker moldings - painted??
He said $1200. He's Canadian, so I'm not sure if he meant US or Canadian dollars. I'd have to see some good pics before I'd consider it. I'm going to be off work on a furlough probably next week, so spending money is not a wise choice for me at the moment.

Re: '71 GTX rocker moldings - painted??
Does anyone know the correct color for the paint on these mouldings? Were they all the same grey color? I thought they were black, but it could just be an incorrect restoration that I saw. I found a guy that has a pair for sale, but he said he bead blasted and primed them. I'm not sure how hard it w...

Re: Another new 71 owner
If I recall correctly the motor mounts will also have to be changed for it to bolt in. The exhaust manifolds are also different, but I don't know if that will be an issue to just bolt it in for now. I have a 78 motor home motor, just sitting on a stand right now until I figure out what direction I'm...

A carbon fiber hood with a built in air graber bubble would be cool, imo!

Re: Trailer Tow Package
It's been a few years since I took it off, and my car is out getting painted so I can't look, but I think it bolts through the rear frame rails and into the trunk. That's why the bolts are so long. I think I just put the bolt back in the hole after I pulled the rear piece off, so it probably was in ...
