Re: HVAC VACUUM CONTROLS

When you did the heater core are you sure you put the vac lines back the way they came off? The actuators are working with the hand pump so that's not the issue. I would take off the vac lines off(mark them of course) the actuators and check and see if you hear the vac change between the lines when...

Re: HVAC VACUUM CONTROLS

Tried NOS replacement, same issues. Vent only. I have vacuum in and individually at connector between HVAC control and heater box. All doors move individually with vac pump, but not plugged in to HVAC control. I'm beginning to think this system may be vacuum loaded at all times, not just individual ...

Re: HVAC VACUUM CONTROLS

Ok, I broke down yesterday and ordered an NOS replacement . Gotta go by part number on these, as they are commonly listed as 1972-80 Dodge truck. I'll let you know how this turns out, but I think this is going to be it! BTW, the HVAC vacuum control is correct for those years of Dodge truck as well, ...

Hugh, thanks for taking the time to post up your experience w- the GV. Thanks for reading it! I hope I helped you or anyone who reads this post make a decision if they ever thought of getting a gear vendors unit. I like wrenching my own cars, hate it when someone else is touching them. Re: My thoughts on Gear Vendors

Why did you go with GV when you could have put a A500 on it? I thought of an a500 or a518. I wanted to handle the install myself. Because of it being a 1973, and the torsion bar mount, and the fact I'm not a very good welder/ fabricator, I decided to go with the G/V unit. The .69 O/D ratio in the M...

My thoughts on Gear Vendors

Hi, I put a GV unit on my 1973 Satellite over this past winter, and just wanted to share my thoughts and experiences with this for anyone who cares to read this. My car is a 73 Satellite, oringinal 318. It has been bored .020 over, has 9:1 comp flat top pistons, edelbrock .420/.420 RV CAM , Performe...

HVAC VACUUM CONTROLS

I am working on my 1973 Satellite, factory air car. I'm trying to get HVAC system to switch between modes, i.e., defrost, heat, vent, a/c, etc. I replaced heater core, necessitating heater box removal. I checked all doors for operation with hand vac pump, all worked perfectly. After reinstalling hea...

Re: Wiper arm installation

It is hard to believe something as simple as this may seem can be so much trouble! I am leaving the arm off for now as I was one bushing short and am going to pull the whole assembly out again to do the fourth and final bushing. I am amazed at how much those little bushings tightened up my wipers! S...

Wiper arm installation

OK , maybe I am just tired, and need to walk away, but what is the trick to installing the wiper arms over the splines? I just pulled my whole drive linkage out to replace all of my broken bushings, as only the drivers wiper was barely working. Now my linkage is nice and tight, and quiet, too! I pul...

Re: 15/16/17" ?

Thanks again for all your replies! Ian, I am also running Indy 500 tires in 15 x 7 rallyes 255/60/15 rear and 235/60 /15 front. The whole story is this: I like a car that handles and is comfy first. I had completely rebuilt my suspension 8 years Go with ISO delete, front and rear sway bars, new leaf...

Re: 15/16/17" ?

275 45 17s all around funny you mentioned that Eric, I was going to ask you next! Love your wheels, too BTW! I was looking at those exact wheels. I take it they are the9" versions? How do the fronts clear? I know the 73-74 have iso but I put the firm feel kit on the k frame now it is solid. Front f...

Bruce, what size tires are you running? Do you see any reason why these wouldn't fit on a 1973-74 ?

Re: 71-72 leaf springs different from 73/74?

The center pin is larger on 73-4 but think they a the same length. Thanks for the reply. My receipt says '66-'74 b body. I just don't want to make another mistake! The Hotchkiss springs look nice. Firm feels also makes springs and I could go the custom route for the price of the Hotchkiss springs. ...

71-72 leaf springs different from 73/74?

I am looking to replace the rear leafs on my 73 Satellite. I made a mistake 8 years ago when I ordered them and didn't check the part number. Turns out they are 4" lift and I hate them! I just happened to find the receipt for them and googled the part number and found out they are for drag racing ap...
