Re: Mopar junkyards in the NE
The last one I remember is called Hall's garage in Scituate Rhode Island. Used to be all old Mopar but had to do all cars to stay in business. If anybody still has any stuff Harry Hall will. Haven't been down that way in a few years

Re: 8 3/4 rear end
I have heard nothing but bad things about Randy's Ring and Pinion. A guy gave me his old sure-grip when he bought a new one from Randy. The axles fit loose in the splines to the NEW unit and nice and tight in the almost 40 year old one. After 3 tries from Randy (my buddy paid shipping on all 3) I en...

Re: Sloppy steering
Not sure if anyone mentioned this yet but the lower control arm bushings, by themselves, can make these cars feel sloppy. You can jack the car up and everything checks out as tight BUT if the lower control arm bushings are bad it will wander, follow cracks in the road and have an overall sloppy feel...

Re: Differential GEAR Ratios!!
You can also change first gear in the transmission by installing a four gear planetary set found in most motorhome trannys.

Re: Crankshaft tightness
Maybe the rear main bearing you have is mispackaged and is an undersized bearing, like a ".010 under that could certainly cause that problem. I am guessing you have a stock piece and just refreshing the motor? Install the bearing, without the crank, and mic the inside diameter, then measure the cran...

Anybody really know what this means? How do I find out how my car was painted? Like was the differential painted? Were any parts of the suspension, springs painted? etc etc. Anybody know a source of info for this stuff and these cars?? Thanks, Elvad.

Re: Crankshaft tightness
Sorry, but one test for a bent crank or poorly machined assembly is a tightness in a part of the rotation of the crank. Make sure all bearings are seated correctly, including NO OIL under the bearing shells installed in the block. Re check everything the machine shop did yourself. Mic every journal,...

Re: How to tell which rearend you have?
8 3/4" rear ends are plenty strong. All the carriers fit all axles etc. The best part is you can have a new gear ratio in about an hour, just have more than one chuck. We use to drive my buddies car to the local track (150 miles away) with 3:23's change the chuck at the track to 4:30's with a spool,...

Re: Updating AC system
I think if you drilled a couple holes in the top of the old compressor and installed sparkplugs you could turn that thing into an engine. It is a ridiculously huge, heavy, out of date design. The heck with OE, Chrysler air always kinda sucked anyway, save a hundred pounds and get A/C that actually w...

Re: K-Frame Solid Body Mount Isolators
Firm Feel is good high quality stuff. I think the solid bushings are the only way to go on your later car. Yeah, that is expensive but so is every other effing thing for these cars now. Are you going to convert the rear spring mounts too? That should be fairly inexpensive. You get what you pay for.....
