Re: 6-bbl v. 8-bbl

Not sure of what you have but for the motor I am building (stroked 400 to 470 - 600ish HP)I was told that a 2x4 set up would be around 50-75 HP less than a good single 4bbl. The intakes for the 400 2x4 set up are the cause for this. Not sure how the 6bbl set up compares.

Turn signals

The turn signals on my 72 RR are not working. For a while they would sometimes work (normally it was while turning right and when I wiggled the lever a few times). Now they don't ever work. My flashers do work and all bulbs are working. I have replaced the flasher and can hear it flashing when I tur...

Re: Challenge for the smart people

Just got mine measured: My rim is a 17x9 with 5" backspacing. Don't know offset Tires are 275/40 --- sidewall to sidewall it is just about 11" wide. Outside of tire just clears the lip on quarters, inside there is 1 3/4" between tire and leafs. Will yours fit?? I am thinking it will. But I would see...

Re: Challenge for the smart people

I will go out and measure mine this weekend for you. I will see how much backspacing I have and how much room on each side of tire. I will also see what my tread/sidewall widths are.

Re: Challenge for the smart people

From what I have been told by different tire professionals 275 tires need atleast a 9" rim (atleast for 17" rim with 40 series tires). If that same holds true for the 15" rim ... mmmmmmmmmm i have on my 71 gtx 275 60 15 on 15 x 7 ralley wheels so why do i need a 9 rim for 275 60 15  I guess ...

From what I have been told by different tire professionals 275 tires need atleast a 9" rim (atleast for 17" rim with 40 series tires). If that same holds true for the 15" rim then you would have to step up to a 10" wide since they don't make a 15x9 in that style. The problem with the 10" wide is the...

Re: Widest rear tire/wheel size?

I would do a 9" wheel. I don't think an 8" would work. I have 275 on mine and they told me I would need to go with a 9" wheel. From looking at mine I would say there is room for 295. That is what I wanted but I ran into the same problem, no one knew how big you could go when I got mine almost 2 yrs ...
