Re: another tire size question

I apologize if this doesn't help. My father's car runs a 235/60R15 in the front and the car is mighty, mighty low (on stock style suspension). Looks fantastic. He's running Rallyes though. Depends on how much backspacing you have, but sounds like a good stance. I'd advise better, but I currently hav...

Re: Body Mods ? Quarter panel scoops ?

Mine's slow rolling, too. That's the challenge. I'll be here until they shut the lights off...So, as long as we finish before then! :D

Re: Body Mods ? Quarter panel scoops ?

I would, but you'd be sorely disappointed as...I don't have any yet! Car is apart, but I'm currently in the works. I'll be delighted to share, but I'll need a year or two! :D

Re: Body Mods ? Quarter panel scoops ?

Same boat here. I don't really like the idea of really cutting up my car, but for maximum performance and execution of it, I'm gonna have to do some surgery. So tasteful modifications are key. I wanna try to make it look like it came with that kinda stuff from the factory!

Re: Best Replacement Quarter Panels?

Hopefully someone else can chime in, but how bad is the panel you're replacing? I can't vouch for our cars specifically, but after serious talk with a Mopar restoration guy, looks like most replacement panels are a nightmare to fit. We were talking about E-Bodies at the time, and those are probably ...

Re: Slammed/lowered 71/72 RR pictures and info ?

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I know I don't put that many miles on my car, but I like the idea of poly bushings for street use. I wanted to keep my parts matching, but I'm still sifting and deciding. So far I like PST's lower control arm overhaul kit, adjustable strut bars (steel tubing, QA1's ...

Re: Slammed/lowered 71/72 RR pictures and info ?

I'm actually looking into new upper control arms to increase caster for those alignment / stability reasons. Any brands you recommend or don't recommend? I don't personally know anyone running them, but I'm looking for something USA made and tough enough to handle the abuse.

Re: Matching original colors?

Take care in "matching," paint, especially metallic. They've had those paint identifier machines for awhile now, but mixing seems to be the tough part. Here's a good example of a slight mismatch that looks like a major mismatch depending on angle: https://classiccars.com/listings/view/1041640/1971-p...

Re: Slammed/lowered 71/72 RR pictures and info ?

I think your plans sound plenty safe. Anything lower you gotta start getting creative. I'm not the master of this, so this is just general bouncing of ideas. I've never used drop spindles, but 2" is pretty safe on stock fronts without really messing with steering geometry too much. In the back, assu...

I have heard more than a 2" drop and you will have driveline tunnel clearance problems. Can anyone confirm this? I'd like to drop mine about 2-4".
That one is a little tough to answer directly. Are you talking about utilizing factory suspension or going with aftermarket stuff?

Re: PROJECT CARS

Agreed! Very nice. Aside of time, I've officially run out of reasons not to be doctoring up my car as we speak. I actually have an area to work in now instead of trying to beat the weather during driveway restorations! Quick funny story; my red-painted calipers on the front of my car still have blac...

Re: Body Mods ? Quarter panel scoops ?

I'd have to see some examples, but I'd think by design they're passable. When I bought my car I didn't have any external badging or stripes. The rear quarter on these things are huge... And when they're naked, they really look like something is missing (to me). I think if you did something subtle, l...

Re: Slammed/lowered 71/72 RR pictures and info ?

My car is low in the front, too. However, I compensated with a taller tire to fill the wheel well. Still looks low and helps keep the important bits from hitting the ground. Roads are rough where I live...Lots of major potholes, suspension bottoming dips, etc. It's either style or function. Unfortun...
