Speedometer Cable Removal

It has been far too long since I have had to do this. Is there a trick to getting the speedo cable disconnected from the tranny? It unscrews without issue, just can't pull the cable out.

Re: AFTERMMARKET RIMS FOR A 71/72 RUNNER

Slotted wheels look good, I had them for quite some time on this car but then switched over to the Keystones. Not a great picture here but this is the SSP with slots. Face it - these cars are timeless, most anything looks great on them!

Re: AFTERMMARKET RIMS FOR A 71/72 RUNNER

I'm running Keystones on mine (15"). While I love the style and always have - I'm not impressed with the quality! Today's wheels tend to rust easily.

Re: 71 B headlamp adjuster?

Not sure if this helps or not. This assembly came off of a '72. I blasted & painted it. Ordered all new hardware for a '72 and the adjuster screws didn't work. The "shoulder" (not the head) on the '72 adjuster screws was just a bit too thick. They were replaced with what I was told was correct for a...

Re: Front end kit...what did you use?

I put in the kit from PST. No issues other than discovering I needed to replace a lower control arm as well. I also used PST for my son's Duster - no issues there either.

Re: No Dash or Running lights

The fuse would be in the main fuse panel behind the accelerator pedal. Try pulling out the ashtray and take a look at the cigarette lighter though. It would be one slide on connector with 2 wires feeding it. One wire is power from the fuse box to the lighter - and the other is power feed from there ...

Re: Glove Box Door Lock Removal?

You were correct, you muust have the key. I did find one for it. You have to slide each of the keyed tumblers in line with the cylinder as you pull to get it apart (one at a time). Thanks for the help.

Re: Glove Box Door Lock Removal?

I was afraid it was similar to an ignition switch removal. I'm going to have to start digging through boxes and see if I kept the trunk lock - I'm thinking this is also where a key might be .................. I hope !!!! Thanks for the information.

Are you showing your car? What time will you be up there? I have followed the work you've done to it and would love to see it. You have to be proud - it is absolutely perfect!

Glove Box Door Lock Removal?

Another one that should be simple, but apparently isn't for me. How do you remove the lock from the glove box door? I'm trying to get a dash frame and peripherals ready to send out for blasting - this is the last piece. Thanks.

Re: Seattle area All Mopar Spring Round-up 2009

I was up there for Cruizn' Colby last weekend, mopars were few and far between. I will probably go up to check out the swap meet but doubt I will take the SSP. I don't much care for people pawing all over the cars anymore.
